Recently I upgraded my Windows 10 to Windows 11 and since doing so, I've had consistent errors while browsing the web on Firefox. Most notably the "Humm. We're having trouble finding that site." error message.

For example, when visiting, say Verizon.com, the tab will display the aforementioned error to which I press Try Again and the website loads correctly every-time. No hiccups on the refresh.

I've tried the following:

  1. I've performed a completely clean uninstall of Firefox and then reinstall
  2. Cleared all browser history/cache
  3. Removed all extensions
  4. Disabled IPv6, HTTPS Over DNS, No Proxy
  5. Ran through Firefox's troubleshooting
  6. Used Firefox Troubleshooting Mode in the Browser
  7. Tested that the problem does not happen while using Edge

I've never had a single problem on Windows 10 with Firefox. Curious if others are experiencing the same issues and if there are any fixes. Nothing else on the PC has changed.

  • Windows 11 21H2 2200.348
  • Network driver is the latest Win11 edition
  • Firefox 95

Every time I launch firefox there is noticeable lag and stuttering with my mouse movements and PC in general.

Before you say it's my themes/extensions/etc. this did not happen in the previous build and does not happen on my Linux version but that's still running the previous build. Other than the Firefox version, nothing has changed.

OS: Windows 10 Build 19043.1237

A site that my company must use daily and frequently for work routinely stops working for everyone who uses Firefox and we get "DOMException: The quota has been exceeded" errors in the console.

Closing and relaunching Firefox usually resolves this temporarily.

I have tried adjusting dom.storage.default_quota but even at hundreds of MB I still sometimes get the error.

The site vendor seems stumped and after weeks back and forth with development are now telling me to use Chrome :( Other Firefox users have been making noise on their product forums but we haven't seen any solutions yet.

I see some bugs in Bugzilla from about a year ago that seem related but it doesn't seem like they are actively being worked. Will there be a long term solution to this?

I'm using Firefox 95.0 64-bit on a Windows 10 computer. The only add-on I've installed is Firefox Color.

Twice in the last week while I've been using Firefox, after it's been working normally, suddenly any clicked link opens in a new window instead of in the same tab as it should. (Note: I have "Open links in tabs instead of new windows" selected in Settings, but it shouldn't apply because I wasn't holding down the Ctrl key when I clicked.)

I quit the browser and when I started it again, it would only open in Safe mode, with a dialog box that included the option Open and Restore. The first time this problem happened I selected Restore, but I still had the problem.

I fixed the problem by downloading and running the FIrefox installer. This solution has worked both times. But I'm concerned that the problem has recurred. What might be causing it? How do I prevent it from happening again?

The last few versions have been behaving erratically for me. Firefox often freezes, during normal light browsing. In some cases, it has frozen my iMac to the point of having to shut down using the power button.

I know programs can get wonky, but affecting the whole computer is troublesome. I regularly delete my cache. I just restarted FF in Troubleshooting mode, after the latest update to 95.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Hi. I use Google reverse image search pretty often. When I have to apply search to image saved to my local storage, I go to images.google.com, drag image file from my Windows 10 desktop and drop it onto the Google search field. Unfortunately, it stopped working reliably few months ago. Sometimes it works, but most of times not.

I'm sure it is a Firefox bug since I tried to disable all of my extensions, delete cookies and even made clean Firefox installation in Windows Sandbox. Results were always the same. In Microsoft Edge, everything works fine.

Could somebody fix that please? After YouTube's inability to remember my theme selection (I was used to bright theme, but I had to stick with default dark one), this is another annoying issue I have on Google sites.

Sometime in the last 2-3 months, it has become impossible for me to use Firefox and Zoom concurrently on my Macbook Pro (2015). When I open a Firefox window during a Zoom meeting my meeting lags, almost freezes, and I get a beautiful spinning Mac rainbow. Eventually this subsides and I can exit Firefox and Zoom returns to function as usual. I am able to pair Chrome and Zoom together with no trouble. I would like to go back to using Firefox, but have had to temporarily switch to Zoom.

Any advice about how to get these two programs to play nice would be appreciated. Thanks!

I'm using Firefox ESR 78.15 with a slightly modified Arkenfox user.js

I keep getting two "Unknown Collection" messages in the console after startup.

The first one reads Unknown Collection "main/messaging-experiments" in the headline, while the following text is shown in the drop down menu: "UnknownCollectionError resource://services-settings/RemoteSettingsClient.jsm:155 sync resource://services-settings/RemoteSettingsClient.jsm:455 InterpretGeneratorResume self-hosted:1158 AsyncFunctionNext self-hosted:693

The second one reads "Unknown Collection "main/cfr-fxa" in the headline, with the same text in the drop down menu as above.

Can someone please explain what these messages mean and if it is something to be concerned about?

I've spent quite some time, but couldn't find out.

I have various versions of Dell OMSA (OpenManage Server Administrator) on about 20 servers running Windows Server 2008 and up, and all of them have stopped working with FF 94.02 (and possibly 94.01)

OMSA gets stuck in a login loop, just keeps asking for credentials. Switching to latest Chrome works, but I'd rather stick with FF.

Any ideas on what setting may have changed to create this issue?

When I open Firefox a tiny window appears with nothing but a button and it does not open. When I click the button it just closes. same thing happens when I open the developer edition as well but in that the main window appears but does not load.

This used to happen intermittently since few months ago. When that happens closing that tiny window and reopening the app usually worked. but it outright does not open anymore

Happened on Win 10 now on Win 11

when I reinstall Firefox it opens up normally. but when I restart my pc this happens again.

Edit: Tried reinstalling to open Firefox now it does not even open like that anymore.

I have a new Cisco Webex Desk Camera that it's not working with Firefox (Flatpak on Fedora Silverblue 35).

lsusb: Bus 006 Device 004: ID 05a6:0023 Cisco Systems, Inc. Cisco Webex Desk Camera

https://mozilla.github.io/webrtc-landing/gum_test.html shows two cameras "Video Capture 4" and "Video Capture 5", none of them work, the page shows an error message: "AbortError: Starting videoinput failed".

The same website works in Chromium (also a Flatpak), which only sees "Video Capture 4 (05a6:0023)". "OBS Studio" is also able to use the camera. "Video Capture 5" is not available in Chromium and freezes the image in OBS Studio. I believe Video Capture 5 is the IR camera that is used in Windows Hello.

Would you be able to help me to get this camera supported, please?

I suddenly can't watch my Youtube TV account. Every time I try to play a feed or a recording it takes a little bit to load then a message appears saying "Sorry, there was an error licensing the video." I've checked my Youtube TV account and everything checks out, restarted my browser, started browser in safe mode. I tried using Internet Explorer and it worked on that, then it worked on Firefox. I closed the Internet Explorer then the Firefox stopped working. Not sure what's going on.
