How much RAM should I expect a page using WebGL to use?

I ask after taking a look at http://www.ro.me/ (and of course starting up the video)--on a freshly opened Firefox, with no other browser tabs or windows open--runs reasonably for me aside from some pauses, but causes the browser's RAM usage to soar to 2.3 GB at some points. (This is on a system running Ubuntu 11.04, 64 bit, with an nvidia 250 graphics card and proprietary nVidia driver 270.41.06. Trying it with Chrome shows its RAM usage to peak at 1.1 GB.
