For the second time today, I lost the entire body of a rather detailed email I was composing for two different glitches. When I started to reconstruct the first I was hitting cntl-S frequently. I relaxed a little for the second and was about to save, but I got a message about the attachment from my drive that I was forwarding, and the entire body was again lost.

From the posts I've read, it appears I'm not alone. Unclear what triggers the saving of a draft, but is there a way to increase the frequency? Between the two I lost today, I wasted over an hour and lost some of the original thinking.

I searched the setting help, but didn't find anything.

I find now that Thunderbird requires Earthlink's password each time an email is sent. Earlier it required it once a day. I am on Windows 11 using Earthlink.net for provider.

"connection to server pop.mail.yahoo.com timed out" I have been getting this message in the activity manager for about a week now. When I click get messages, it says down loading message 1 of 1, but nothing happens.

I rebooted my Windows 11 PC yesterday and apparently Thunderbird updated to version Thunderbird 128.6.1esr (64-bit) during the reboot. Unfortunately, when I opened Thunderbird, it showed a Create New Account screen instead of my existing email accounts. I went to "about:profile" and it lists my existing profile as the default, but it will not access any of the accounts in it. I've tried reinstalling Thunderbird over the existing copy and get the same result. I'm at a loss as to how I can retrieve many, many years of emails in six accounts!

Following some changes in our organization, we had to create new email addresses with new domain names. We have kept the old ones until now but we decided to erase some that had not received emails for a while.

Since we did that, we have encountered some problems regarding one of our computer. We can't send emails because Thunderbird is asking us for the passwords of the deleted email accounts. When we click on cancel, a window opens saying (roughly translated from French): "The email could not be sent. Authentification to the SMTP (outgoing server) failed. Please verify your password and the "Authentification method" in the "Account parameters | Outgoing server (SMTP) menu." The email was sent from a completely different email address than the one linked to the email account.

We deleted the accounts and cannot access this menu. Has it happened to anyone? What would be the solution to be able to send email again on that computer?

I'm looking to customize the colour of the message header row (the part highlighted in red; with a black background as shown in the screenshot) to #202020, to match the rest of the elements of the view. While I've successfully managed to customize other elements (code below), I need help with identifying what to specify for the message header row.

Since Thunderbird update to Snap ``` 140.12.1esr (64-Bit) Mozilla Thunderbird Snap for Ubuntu ubuntu-snap-build - 1.0 ``` opening attachments ceased to work. What does NOT work (any more):

• Move mouse over attachment → right mouse → open (nothing happens)
• Move mouse over attachment → right mouse → open with (doesn't exist)
• Move mouse over attachment → doubleclick (nothing happens)
• Settings → Attachments → There is an empty box, and in the void beneath it, floating in empty space the text (backtranslated from DE): "Add a Filelink-memory service" or "Filelink-save service" or similar. The text is dead (not clickable), same for the empty box.

AFAIR, in the good old non-snap TB version, the box had file extensions and linked applications to open them. The box / links / extensions coud be added, edited, removed. But in snap crap it's all dead...

Any hints what I am missing?

I used to open attachments from received mails (like .diff, .patch), and also used it for final inspection of own attachments while composing mails.

I want to auto delete all msgs from a specific sender. I want to create a filter which will delete them so I won't see them at all (auto deleted). I tried to create one but could only move the messages frm the sender to the spam folder. But I don't even want to see them there. I want them gone automatically.

How do I do this?

Hello. I regularly sign up for online conferences, then when I get the confirmation email with the details I can't transfer it to the calendar. I even tried saving the ical event separately but when I try opening it using Thunderbird I get an error message. The only way I found is to transfer the contents manually and create an event on calendar, which is time consuming. Anyone knows how to fix this? Thank you in advance

TalkTalk have outsourced their email to Everymail. We use Thunderbird as our e, Mail client on a pc. We have stopped getting email and can’t send any for a week now. Do I need to reset the server names suddenly.

I am getting the error "connection timed out to connect to SMTP server". I am running on Linux Mint. The same setting do work on MacOS so there is no wrong config or broken SMTP server. It was working well since a couple of years. I also tried troubleshooting mode but still the same.

I've been using TB for many years, and without warning, when it tries to down load my mail from the Proton mail server, it says it can't find the folder "Inbox". I've tried to "repair" that folder a couple times unsuccessfully. I've restarted the TB program a couple times, but nothing changes. The error shows up on the bottom "instruction line". I've gone through all my settings and find nothing amiss. Not sure where to go from here. -- Just noticed that I had about 80 emails in that Inbox folder that are now missing completely. Normally, I move read emails to there respective folders, and leave important ones in the Inbox for followup. One significant note here, is I'm still using Win 7 premium. So far it hasn't been a problem. Thanks a bunch, Gerald

With a new Thunderbird installation on Windows 10 Pro, I attempted to import my profile data from a Postbox on another machine. The process failed, citing two errors (see attached screen shot), EmptyDatabase Error: "blocklists/addons-bloomfilters" has not been synced yet Uncaught NS_ERROR_FILE_NO_DEVICE_SPACE: Component returned failure code: 0X805200010

The profile being imported is pretty large -- around 20Gb, so I wonder whether I have surpassed some capacity limit. I was doing this via the Import Tool on the Tools menu.

Porting my legacy mail folders is crucial. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
