I get notifications from Firefox browser saying that I have messages, but if I click on the notification it just opens the browser and doesn't take me to the message that I clicked on. I can't seem to figure out where said messages are hiding. It's a little frustrating. Can you please tell me where these messages are at? It will be greatly appreciated. I took a screenshot of the Firefox version I'm running. I hope that helps.

Trying out Firefox in Windows 11 after not having used it in several years, and right away I am faced with a major problem that I cannot figure out: I am not receiving Gmail notifications!

I keep Gmail open as my first tab, at all times, as seen in the first screenshot I've attached. In Gmail itself, in said tab, I have gone to the SETTINGS wheel -> See All Settings and scrolled down to the Notifications area, and clicked the link that says Enable Desktop Notifications. Firefox prompted me about the notifications, and I of course chose "Allow". As seen in the second screenshot I've attached, the offer to enable desktop notifications isn't even there anymore because it has been allowed. And notifications are set to ALL emails in the main tab, with a loud sound to play as well just so I don't miss it.

And lo and behold, the only notification I am getting is a blue dot under the pinned tab under the Gmail logo

There is no sound played that I've heard, but more importantly, no popups on my desktop and nothing waiting in my system notification center

I am using Windows 11 Enterprise

hej, you write oh dear, no print is possible :-((( but you write to me, that I have win10... but it is a new machine with win 11...and firefox does not work, i cant se my mails?!?!!?

I keep getting a pop-up for"sign documents online" in my Firefox browser. Several others have reported the same. It overlays the browser content so I can't use Firefox at all. My only option seems to be to uninstall Firefox and use a different browser. Is there a fix?

Hi, I just installed the latest update (I think it's 136.0.2). I guess I skipped some/several versions. Suddenly my main menu isn't workin anymore (clicking it with the mouse, that is) There is some overlay which I can't find out, how to remove. Even the Minimize/Maximize/Close buttons don't have any function. Luckily I can still access the menu via keyboard shortcuts. How can I remove that overlay bar ... or did I catch some malware ?

Why when you click on the extensions button (jigsaw puzzle icon) in the toolbar to open the extensions panel the “Personalize Your Firefox” screen appears ???

When you right click a gear icon in a particular extension, the drop down menu has no "pin to tool bar" option, it only shows "copy/select all/print..." options ???

Since the new "feature" profiles came out, I now always have this "originalprofile" in the browser (in the title bar) and in the Windows taskbar... It's really annoying.... Now my question is, how do I get rid of it again... on 3 more pictures, Firefox language is German...

Is there a way to change the defaults profile path.

For example, in the profiles.ini :

Name=default IsRelative=1 Path=Profiles/be7er9lz.default Default=1

this is a relative path referring to %appdata%\Mozilla\Firefox\[PathVariableValue]

Is there a way to change a config file or config to customise the path for all users a windows computer ?

For example :

setting this variable to \\nameofserver\Firefox\

will made all relatives profiles looking for : \\nameofserver\Firefox\[PathVariableValue]

without this option, I should be obliged to edit all users profiles.ini to change path to absolute

How can i download a pdf of my passwords. I think i need to set up a lock screen first. Please give precise instructions how to accomplish both these tasks. Im having great difficulty signing in and out of sites so until i figure out how and why things have changed i need a list of passwords. My device is currently unlocked. I have trouble finding my way back to my questions here. Why doesnt firefox have a history function? Sometimes it does but its not recent. I put all these questions together because its too difficult finding my way back to every individual question. I have a hundred questions about firefox so many that its daunting to consider as it would take me days to do and its time i dont have. When working hints on Ancestry.com, under certain conditions a second scrollbar is generated to the immediate left of the right hand scrollbar. This second scrollbar is used to move downward in the hint compare area on the right hand side of the open page. When running under Firefox on Windows 11 systems "this second scrollbar is not there"! Everything works fine using any other browsers (EDGE, Chrome, Brave), but not Firefox! Works fine on Windows 10 systems. I have tried this on 3 different Windows 11 computers with the same failed results.

I use Xero accounting software and used to be able to view pdf within the software up until the recent update. Now it just sits with a spinning wheel. I've found that if I change the setting within Firefox to open the pdf within Firefox the issue is fixed in Xero. But then all pdf's open in Firefox instead of the usual Adobe. This breaks other workflows within my organisation as I need to email the pdf straight away when I download it, so my Windows was set with Adobe as the default for opening pdf's but now Firefox has taken that over. There does not appear to be any way to email the pdf from Firefox other than to save it and then find the file and email it from there which is very time consuming. I don't know what has changed in Firefox, but please can you fix it. I see I'm not the only person with this issue.

I'm trying to configure Firefox on Mac using our MDM. The goal is ultimately to control a bunch of settings, but I'm trying to start simple by just installing the 1Password extension.

When I deploy this .mobileconfig file, nothing seems to happen to Firefox. I made this by following the example at https://github.com/mozilla/policy-templates/blob/master/mac/org.mozilla.firefox.plist but it doesn't seem to work and I am not sure how to debug.

Hello, I installed a VPN on my laptop, but it is not working. I cannot connect to any servers. I have tried restarting my laptop and reinstalling the VPN, but the problem still exists. How can I fix this issue?

Instructions begin with "Click on the three horizontal lines and select OPTIONS." My updated version of Firefox does not have OPTIONS. Reinstalling Firefox did not solve the problem. In OPTIONS, PDF is supposed to be in the list. Opening a pdf file in Firefox did not cause an edit option to appear.

ver: 134.0.1 Windows 10 Pro I have Firefox set to open filetype PDF in Browser. Normally I use IDM which automatically download PDFs, unless I press ALT key while clicking DOWNLOAD button, then it does not, in order to allow Firefox to handle the PDF.

Firefox presently does nothing. With filetype setting set to Open in Browser, Firefox Does nothing. If settings are set to Ask, it does not ask. The PDF filename appears at bottom of screen momentarily.

ver: 115.19.0esr Windows 7 Utl 7601 The exact same behaviour was also seen on a Windows 7 system running Firefox 115.19.0esr. PDF is also set there to "Open in Firefox". Again, when ALT pressed when clicking Download button, Firefox does nothing.

I have a requirement where instead of showing the 404 error or 503 error on screen, I want to display a blank screen. I have already tried to set the following configs to false -

When loading certain pages (on web application) the motion icon starts and after several seconds it changes to the sand clock icon despite the setting described in 'https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1303416' being done - ui.prefersReducedMotion set to 'false'. My work is all done in this web app and it is very important to see when data is being uploaded (grey/black dots) and when the page is supposedly being refreshed with updated data being downloaded (blue/green dots). Why is the preference being ignored and how to fix it so you always get the motion?
