My mouse now has 2 modes. I must constantly reset it (open/close StartMenu) between webpage control and Firefox control. How to fix?
Once a Firefox control (toolbar button, URL entry, Searchbox Entry) is invoked, the mouse will no longer operate in the web window (other than moving around) or move scroll bars. Can't select anything, enter data, click links, etc.
To switch to the "other mode", it's necessary to "reset" by opening/closing Windows Start Menu.
In this "mode", it's not possible to use Firefox controls (Toolbars, Back/Forward, URL addressing, Search Box entry) without performing the same "reset" procedure.
Once "reset" it's possible to do anything once but whatever is done will "set" the mode in 1 of those 2 modes where it will remain until the next5 time the start menu is opened/closed.
Using drop-down menus in webpages (like this one) requires that the choice in the drop menu be selected using up/down arrows and [Enter] key. The mouse will drop the menu, but will not "select" the chosen item.
