When I send a follow-up reply to an email in the Sent folder it does not show up anywhere

That's a weird one, but I did some testing, and I am sure it is some problem with my Thunderbird or configuration.

Here is what I do. I received an email. I reply to it. I see the reply in the Sent folder. Then I click on the reply and choose to reply to that (as a follow-up email). I verify the recipient is correct and send it. They received my email, but I can no longer find it in my Sent folder. It is nowhere to be found. Tested with another email client - everything works as expected.

Does anyone have a clue what I am doing wrong??

Instead of replying to a sent message, a better choice is to right-click the sent message, Edit As New Message.

Not really the same thing. And I don't see why it would be a better choice. It doesn't include the previous reply as a quote.
