"Bad request" following account authorization

I'm attempting to sync my account between a Windows host and a Linux host. Logging into my account on Linux brings up a "Authorize this sign-in" window that demands entry of a 7-char "Authorization Code" (not the same as a six-digit authentication code) which is emailed to me. After entering the authorization code, a window appears stating "Bad request - Something went wrong. Please close this tab and try again." This happens consistently, and only on the Linux host. Firefox 134.0.2 mint-001 1.0. Linux Mint 22.1. Any ideas about what went wrong?

How's is that a Firefox browser issue as Firefox browser isn't Windows OS and Linux hosts are the only one connecting? Just trying to figure how Firefox browser is stuck between this connection?

Can confirm this issue has persisted into newer versions of Firefox. I was having the same issue on Zen Browser 1.13.2b (Firefox 139.0.4) (64-bit)

Although I can log into my Mozilla account to post on the support forums, my initial attempts at signing into Firefox Sync failed. Here's what happened

  1. Begin the workflow for logging into Firefox Sync
  2. Enter my password and click sign in
  3. Get asked to provide an e-mailed authentication code (note: not the usual app-generated 2FA code)
  4. Provide the authentication code and click submit
  5. Receive the "Bad request" error

The fix seemed to be to simply wait half an hour before trying again. After waiting, I was prompted for the 2FA code from my mobile app and the sync began working without further issue. It's a frustrating experience that should be made clearer for the user.
