Firefox randomly signing me out of every account?

more options

The past couple weeks I've had this issue 2-3 times now where after I start up my computer and launch Firefox, and I find am logged out of every last website I was logged into. However, it is not every time I launch, and seems to only happen the first launch of a Windows session.

I've never had this issue before. The only notable changes that have happened to my computer in the past several weeks are:

1) I now have a second Windows user account on my PC for work (I suspect this to be honest, but not sure why it would be like that)

2) I think Windows 10 did a random feature update against my will a month ago?

3) I installed Escape From Tarkov

I have uBlock Origin, NoScript, Ghostery, and HTTPS Everywhere. Nothing else besides those add-ons.

Aside from that, I went through Firefox log-in/session settings and everything is correct.

I even have cookie exceptions set to "Allow" for all of those sites (both HTTP and HTTPS URLs), so there is zero reason that this should be happening.

Its also worth noting that this is not every time I launch Firefox. It is seemingly random but happens upon my first launch of Firefox that Windows start up. POSSIBLY after I hit "Restart" on Windows instead of "Shutdown", but I haven't been able to test this theory yet.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

First disable all Addons as sounds more likely one of the Addons is the culprit here. Otherwise you need to verify in Private Mode if the issue happens or not.

Thanks for your reply.

Its possible, in regards to the Add-ons. The issue is, I've used these add-ons for a decade and never had this problem. This problem only popped up recently, vaguely coinciding with the above events. I will try disabling Ghostery and HTTPS Everywhere and see if it happens again this week.

The other issue is that because this ONLY happens on the first launch of a Windows session (but NOT every time... maybe once every 5-6 days) its really hard to troubleshoot and figure out.

Switching to Private Mode won't really be a good litmus test, because by the time I launch, its already happened (or not happened).

Usually it's the cookies that keep you signed in. As long as Firefox can return the site's cookie indicated you already signed in, you don't have to do it again. Once that cookie is cleared, time to sign in again.

One thing that sometimes happens at Windows startup (or periodically on a schedule) is that a program like CCleaner or Advanced SystemCare removes browser data for privacy. A program like that could be what is clearing the cookies.
