My Firefox has just been updated to 91.3.Oesr. Previously the lock symbol in the URL could be dragged to the desktop to save the URL as a bookmark. This update doesn't allow me to do that. Please advise.

Ok I turned the computer off, rebooted and Firefox is therefore not in the Troubleshoot Mode and everything still works fine. The problem has mysteriously disappeared!

Also, previously it was possible to drag the tags at the top to new positions left or right. This 91.3.Oesr update doesn't allow me to do that. Please advise.

Start Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration or userChrome.css is causing problems.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Troubleshoot Mode start window

Thank you for your advice. In Troubleshoot Mode everything worked fine. I then quit Firefox and then restarted Firefox, and although I hadn't change anything everything now worked fine. I wondered if it was still / stuck in Troubleshoot Mode? HOW COULD THIS BE DETERMINED? NO GUIDANCE OR INFORMATION IS OFFERED ABOUT THIS. SURELY THIS IS IMPORTANT TO KNOW? I then quit Firefox and then restarted Firefox, everything continued to work fine. Since I hadn't changed anything I'm left with a suspicion that it might still be in Troubleshoot Mode.
