Firefox Sync on Android Authenticator Error

When setting up sync on my new Android phone. I scan the QR code on the webpage on my desktop, then it takes me to a screen to type in the code from Google Authenticator. I type in the code from the Google Authenticator app that is presently showing my my phones screen and I get an invalid pin error, every time.
