How to use Tunderbird 60.7 with Lightning?

After the update to 60.7, TB starts but hangs after a few seconds. Tests in safe mode and step-by-step activation of extensions have definitely identified Lightning as the show stopper. Only disabling Lightning allows to run TB smoothly. Installed latest Lightning extension from website (lightning-6.2-sm+tb.xpi), as this had solved TB update problems as Lightning had not been updated to the respective compatible version in the past. But this time TB can only run without Lightning.
