How do I get rid of context-sensitve arrow that pops up over downloadable images?

more options

I just installed FireFox 39 for the third time. Every time I install it, a box with a plain down air (see image) pops up when my pointer is over a downloadable graphic element, such as the Google logo when I'm in Google. Over friends' avatar images when I'm in Facebook. The arrow stays displayed for several seconds before disappearing. But it comes right back when my pointer is again positioned over the image/s (Google logo, etc). The arrow is black & white when selected but is gray & white when not selected. I had java installed at first but uninstalled it thinking it may be the problem. But the arrow appears regardless if I have java installed or not. Could it be a coding element left in by mistake? It's extremely distracting and annoying. I have a Toshiba Satellite S50 laptop with 12 g memory and a 1.8 processor. I'm running windows 7.1 64 bit with a graphics accelerator. I have several graphics programs installed including Adobe Elements, Corel Paint, Paint.net Also running MS Office, CC Cleaner, and Norton Security. Please help me get rid of this arrow! I'm going to have to stop using FireFox if it persists! Thank you. (the image did not upload - it's just a plain black & white down-arrow, stick-like -- a few mm thick. It's called "download_on.png" ↓ (ALSO: in the Task Manager it had a resource of "jetpack")

What if you disable that Double-click Image Downloader extension you have installed - is that arrow gone?

Someone else asked about that Sunday: How to disable auto overlay image download arrow app in FF39..

I wonder whether it is a new feature of the extension? According to its page on the Add-ons site, the overlaid arrow should be optional so if you liked the extension otherwise, you could research how to turn off that option.
