Firefox Sync encountered an error while syncing: Unknown error
I am using Firefox 4 Beta 9 on a 3 Macs and one Linux machine. Since I started using Firefox 4 Beta 9 I get the error "Sync encountered an error while syncing: Unknown error. Sync will automatically retry this action" It is in an endless loop. How do I fix this?

I contacted support and the answer was delete account and reinstall. all working so far now.
This did not work for me. Sync on Firefox 4 beta 9 was working for me a few days ago, now it's not. Sync is working properly in Firefox 3.6.13 via the plugin and the latest nightly builds of Firefox 4. Only Firefox 4 beta 9 no longer works. By the way, which support did you contact? I'd like to contact them as well.
Thanks joelw135 - I tried the solution again and like the last time, the Firefox 4 nightly builds (Minefield) and Firefox 3.6.13 sync properly but Firefox 4 beta 9 does not when it used to sync with no problem. I'm assuming then that the update to the Firefox Sync servers no longer supports Firefox beta 9 since, by what I've read, the update changed things around a bit drastically (APIs and such) so I've shut off Sync for beta 9 for now. And since beta 10 is due this week and beta 11 is due the next (yup, 2 more betas in less than 2 weeks they say), I'll wait for the beta 10 before trying again.

I have it working to some extent, but it scrambles my bookmarks. I am going to wait for 10 also and hope it works like it did before.

Just to expand a bit: I use Firefox and Sync on/between multiple platforms so delete the account just to test is not an option. Another browser might be
I'm having the same problem; however, in my case it appeared with 4.0 beta 11. Everything was fine up until then.
I encountered this error as well this morning.
The 4.0 beta 11 did not have this earlier. It just started to happen today.

Got the same problem, I've tried zzynko's link but it's still the same thing happen. I'm thinking of creating another account.
It is important that you have the exact same version of Firefox on all your computers. If one has updated recently, make sure you update the others too. This often fixes the Sync Unknown error.
