Previously the yellow banner with the text "To protect your privacy, Thunderbird has blocked remote content in this message" had an Options button which allowed me to click "show remote content" or allow subdomains to permanently show remote content. That options button is now missing, and there's only a X button to close the warning banner.

My Privacy settings has "Allow remote content in message" unchecked and there are no Exceptions. On mobile Thunderbird I can still "show remote images" successfully.

v128.4.3, Flatpak

I tried to open settings because I need to change account passwords. As soon as I open settings Thunderbird crashes after showing the settings page for half a second. Latest Thunderbird version under latest windows 11 version. Anyone else has this problem? Restarting the PC (miracle cure for problems under windows) did not solve the problem. Anyone else has this? Anyone knows a solution?

I cannot access my accounts passwords, so the problem is rather worrisome and urgent.

Someone is sending emails which are "from my domain" but not sent by me. The only constant is my email address and the name in Correspondents. Is there anyway to create a filter to automatically delete email based on Correspondents "name" ?

I'm setting up TB on a new computer. TB keeps asking for my password but the pw I had written down is not correct (it was many years ago). How can I retrieve this password? I have tried my Mozilla account pw and it is not that. Thanks.

How I can delete Trojan -spy that Kaspersky detected but not possible to delete in folders Inbox and Junk. Actually it been deleted without opening email when it arrived but still Kaspersky is detecting it as you can see on the attached print screen. What is difference between Inbox and Inbox.msf and junk vs junk.msf

Thunderbird wants verificationfrom gmail but there is no where i can click locked in page have to ctrl>alt>delete to get out. No where to click on continue. I think the page is too big and aI cant see the next or accept or any other button. Can't use thunderbird to send or to see address or anything else

I wonder if thunderbird (plus addons?) could help fight phishing in the following way. Say I need to check the authenticity of emails I get from Bob. Is there a way to

1) Get Bob to create digital signature (PGP?) and send it to me ahead of time in secure channel; I store this signature locally (on thunderbird?)

2) Bob sends me an email, with this signature

3) Upon receiving this email, thunderbird automatically verifies the signature against the locally saved one and confirms that the signature is correct

Note: I am looking for automatic verification of message/sender, NOT encryption.

If this can be done, do Bob also needs to use thunderbird (plus addons?), or is there a standard protocol for this (e.g. can this be done via gmail webinterface, outlook, etc?)

p.s. For (1), Bob can e.g. posts his signature on his webpage as well. But my main question is about (3).

I understand that turning on adaptive junk filtering means that Thunderbird learns to detect junk messages as time goes on. If I DON'T select adaptive filtering then what happens?

1. Potentially junk messages are not recognised as such and are treated like all other messages
2. Thunderbird uses a fixed set of criteria to select what it thinks is junk, and then moves it as per the options selected.

I've been using Thunderbird for years now for various email accounts that I mostly used to information I would consider public. Thus while I would take simple and obvious precautions, I wasn't overly concerned with security.

Now, I'm connecting Thunderbird to my personal email accounts, including my ProtonMail account that I do use for private information. I'm happy with the ProtonBridge handles encryption and decryption when you send and receive emails but as I understand it, once on the device, all of your emails are just stored in plain text.

Yes you can put a Password on Thunderbird but that wouldn't deter anyone with any motive. I'm aware many people site FDE as a solution to this problem and while it's part of a solution, I would like an additional layer of security. I would like everything inside of '/home/user/.thunderbird' encrypted at rest. Ideally the Master Password would decrypt it but it's not the end of the world if it's a little more laborious.

From everything I've seen so far, unless I send and receive all of my emails with PGP, my emails will be stored plain text on my PC. Perhaps installing Thunderbird inside a veracrypt volume is the only option?

I am worried about privacy and security issues regarding to addons with very few users and reviews. I was hoping you could shed light on them for example Hawk (Like ChatGPT in your emails).

Are there any ways to guarantee my security and my emails not being seen?

The messages even contain the note "Thunderbird thinks this message is Junk" and I "Mark" it as junk, but I I still keep getting junk messages from the same email address. Why doesn't Tbird send messages from this email address to Junk?

looks like my thunderbird profile was hacked & some email accounts passwords changed, others I have problems send or receiving mail. I've even had emails from the hacker showing my passwords.

I deleted thunderbird &m used a backup profile from Dec24 but still have problems.

I ran Avast which found some trojan files in my thunderbird files, deleted them but I still have probs.

Any idea on a solution?

Da wir oftmals Befunde verschicken müssen und den Datenschutz nicht verletzten wollen, würde wir gerne die Option der verschlüsselten Nachricht nutzen wollen. Bitte um Hilfe diesbezüglich, danke.

Junk button on main page is grayed out. I right click on junk emails and use the button at the top of the menu to mark them as junk but I keep getting mail from the same senders.
