Hello!

I first installed Video Download Helper several weeks ago and it worked fine. However, since the update of 04 March, 2026, it no longer works with YouTube. (It does, however, still work with Instagram.) Having checked all of the settings (which I had/have not changed), I uninstalled it today and then re-installed it. This hasn't helped. With YouTube, the Downloader icon (pinned to toolbar) simply remains grey and does not show any videos when opened. I am using the latest, fully updated version of Firefox with Windows 10.

Can anyone help, please?

I started using Claude in the side panel instead of a dedicated tab, but there is something noise about it: every time I click to open the side panel the chat starts from scratch. Getting a clean slate is nice, but it takes too much time loading. So I would like to not unload the content of the panel when I close it, just hide it, so when I click to open is already loaded. There is a way to do that?

This is the most annoying behavior. For the most time I would like to use panel once or twice a day to ask some question to continue on conversation in some chat but whenever I close the AI chat-bot panel it resets its context and throws me onto the default page of the provider of my choosing. I have to click my way into the proper chat every time. Could a chat-bot panel keep its context or keep it session at the place where I left it?

Hello Again that white stripe at the top of the screen is back this PM: I refreshed firefox yesterday and it solved until now: have carried out the dirty dozen: updated FF yes, clear cache yes etc.

Can anyone help me in layman terms: I checked safari and it was OK there. would prefer FF : I use (have done so since its inception) DuckDuckGo as my home page .

I have an Intel I5 PC that runs MS Win XP. The reason that I'm still running that ancient OS is because of whats inside it. I have two old boards in it that I still use and quit honestly can't afford several thousand dollars to replace them. And the new machine to go with them.

I need to get online to download the few pieces of software I need That are still out there. But like most sites they examine your machine to see what versions you need and it's a download and install package. So I can't use a different PC.

My question is: Is there a version of Firefox I can download that will work on XP, and not be ignored like is done to IE 8. And that I can then transfer to the XP (service pack 3) box for installation?

Firefox 147.0.4 on macOS 26.3 does not work via SOCKS proxy.

Firefox 147.0.4 on Windows 11 x64 works fine via the same intranet SOCKS proxy, with exactly the same settings.

The advantage of Firefox is its flexibility. It supports its own SOCKS proxy settings, independent of systems-wide ones. Unfortunately, it seems this Firefox feature is broken on macOS (but Windows version works perfectly).

Safari 26.3 (21623.2.7.11.6) and DuckDuckGo 1.177.0 (625) web-browsers that use system-wide macOS SOCKS proxy settings also works fine with this intranet proxy server. So it seems SOCKS proxy server itself is OK, and the problem is confined to Firefox on macOS.

Has anyone seen Firefox 147 on macOS work via SOCKS proxy? Is there a principal difference between how Firefox handles SOCKS proxy on macOS vs. Windows? What might be the best way to address the problem on macOS?

Hello Folks: after having the 'invisible' band across the top of each page, it was advised I reset : was fine saved all bookmarks before hand etc. Now, I am having to log into my usual apps each time: eg. the Library, the duck.ai, the Fitness app etc. Was this a result of the reset: wondering if the duckduckgo Privacy Essentials extension and the FF reset (refresh?) in now in conflict: I am not a greenhorn but definitely not an advanced techy so laylman's terms please THANK you for your help with this.

i looked up lots questions and solution. nothings seems to work. i did all Troubleshoot and diagnose Firefox problems. cleared cache, restarted firefox, refreshed. everything I could do. nothing works.

could you tell me what else I can try?

I want to find my most visited websites in the address bar without any unnecessary actions!!!

Suddenly today when I tried to use facebook, already logged in, I got the message "Account Temporarily Unavailable. Your account is currently unavailable due to a site issue. We expect this to be resolved shortly. Please try again in a few minutes." Yet facebook works fine on Safari and Chrome.

I cleared my settings, except cookies, turned off extensions and restarted firefox which did not help.

What else can I do?-Martha

I'm on version 148.0, dragging tabs stopped working, not on horizontal and not on vertical tabs I've tried to create a help ticket for it but apparently the help form just does nothing and doesn't send when I click submit Anyone else experience any of these issues? And how can you contact Mozilla even? Edit - fixed after windows restart

Firefox Sync code doesn't arrive; my email's support (Proton Mail) says you have «likely added you to their suppression (do-not-send) list automatically.».

So I request you remove the e-mail associated with my account, the one used in this post, from the do-not-send list.

I asked on 11 January 2026 Help for finding back my cookies. Got an answer by e-mail, but this disn't help to find my cookies and so I cannot manage these. Who can tell me please where I can find all my cookies? Thanks in advance. Regards Theo Koeppen
