When I click a link in Firefox sometimes it will open up the new window in Chrome, how can I stop this? I don't want to make Firefox my default browser, as I use Chrome for that.

bold textI have my Windows 11 and Firefox updated as of 4/3/2026. I have two ongoing problems with Firefox. 1. No link works. I keep getting redirected back to my original location. I have used your troubleshoot feature to restart, but it doesn't stay fixed. 2. I have AdBlock Plus Premium and everytime I close the browser it logs me out of my AdBlock account. It is a real irritating problem. I pay to have ads blocked and if I can't keep it from blocking unwanted ads, then I guess I will quit using Firefox.

Google browser keeps popping up in my browserwhen Firefox is my default browser in my setting and downloaded & installed from my Google playstore. I don't like Google and what it does but I feel trapped because I have so much important data on their Gmail and other Google apps. I am a senior with traumatic brain injury and have no tech knowledge or experience to have other options.

Whenever I search something and there is a youtube video included in the search results, all links direct to that video. In the example image it show me hovering over a website link and in the bottom left hand corner it instead tries to open a youtube link at the bottom of the page.

I see many complaints about this new version v 149 for the Mac. The most outrageous one is that you can no longer drag links from a browser page (try BBC) to an email or a doc. You have to copy the link then it won't turn blue and only when received will it show up as a link. Like many others after 30 years use preferred over Safari and others I am seriously losing patience with Firefox. On the very day you announce split screen for Ff windows - you disable a vital feature that has worked for years causing me to waste so far 60 minutes of my hard pressed work time. Maybe this will be corrected in the next upgrade. But I am now intending to avoid all Firefox upgrades for 6 months after being offered. I doubt anyone on this forum will come back on this but my set-up is Mac OS Monterey - and Firefox v 148 worked perfectly before today. I hesitate to try and install the previous version because I am not used to doing such tech moves. Perhaps someone in the Mozilla head office congratulating themselves on the marvellous new upgrade will come across this but I doubt it

I used to be able to clink on an image link prior to a Firefox update (I don't know which one) to go to that site. Firefox gives me that it cannot find the server. What can I do to correct this problem?

J'ai 2 PC sur lesquels j'ai windows 11 ,sur l'un je n'est aucun soucis de faire un copier coller d'un lien du navigateur sur le bureau ,mais sur le 2 ieme PC impossible ,il n'y a que edge qui le permet ,pourquoi ? Cela fait des semaines que j'essaye mais rien à faire que puis-je faire c'est très très gênant je préfére mozilla. Merci d'avance pour ce problème.

Links don't work reliably in Firefox. For example, I can't pay with PayPal when making a purchase because clicking the "PayPal" link doesn't open the PayPal page.

Is there a Firefox setting I need to change, or do I need to switch to a different browser?

I am using Firefox 148.0 and Mac Tahoe 26.3.1.

When I click on a link in an email, two Firefox windows open. The window to the link opens, along with my homepage window, so two windows are opening in Firefox instead of just the one containing the link address. This is happening when using Thunderbird. However, I have tested this using Apple Mail and Outlook, and the same problem occurs. This problem happens whether I have Firefox already open or not. I have opened the email links with Firefox running in Troubleshoot / Safe mode and the problem persists. I have also cleared Firefox cache / site data / history and the problem concerning email links is still there. This problem arose after installing Firefox 148.0.

Anyone able to help solve this problem? Thank you for taking the time to read this report.

How do I get the 'open in new tab' option back when I use the right button on my mouse. It does not appear on the menu when I right click? This is a change overnight and I have not altered any settings.

I use siscom.net for my emails. The pointer doesn't seem to open the emails. It changes into a finger on a hand and doesn't trigger the opening of the emails. I'm using Windows 11.

If a click a link on the current page, the new page does not get loaded and the progress bar keeps sliding till eternity. But if I choose the option 'Open link in new tab' things work fine. The problem is being faced both on Windows and Linux. I do not know if it is a simple settings issue. Help is requested. Thanks in advance

I am running a desktop with Win 11 pro with all the updates. I have Firefox as my web browser and Thunderbird for my email accounts, Talktalk, Aol and gmail. When I try to open a web page with a mailto link, although Firefox is set as default it will not open the link, oddly it will work with gmail. I do not have this problem with my other desktop running Win 7. How do I get it to work on Win 11. Please note I am a 80 year old and totally illiterate computerwise. Therefore I need the answer to be step by step and when you say open this or that please tell me how to open it. Geoff

When I try to open a link from a different app, e.g. from calibre to open the Updates link, firefox opens a new instance instead of opening a new tab in the current instance. This causes the browser to throw an error and never open the link.

is this fixable?
