This sometimes happens with cross-site comment sections: because the comment service provider can track you across multiple sites, someone adds them to the Tracking Protection list. As a test, you can disable tracking protection on the news site and see whether that helps. Here's how: Look for a shield icon toward the left end of the address bar, next to the lock icon. Click the icon to check the current status and then on the panel that drops, click the blue slider switch to disable protection.
