Focus freezes, iOS goes black, reboots after latest iOS iPhone iPad update to 15.7.x

Especially for some sites, such as the Washington Post, when attempting to clear Focus by tapping the trash can, Focus freezes, then (both) the iPad or iPhone go black with a small spinning circle, rebooting to iPad's/iPhone's entry screen. This started happening recently, in early 2023, after updating iOS. Very very very (did I say "very"?) annoying. If this is not a current Focus bug report, it should be.
