Forced to continuously update from "older version" when already using newest version = resets profile
This is happening on a regular basis and happening more frequently. results in a requirement to create a new profile.

Do you have enabled "Resist Fingerprinting" if you check ‘’’Resist Fingerprinting’’’
on the ‘’’about:config’’’ page as this affects the user agent?

You appear to be using a Firefox 78.xx.0 ESR version when you created this thread.
Are you updated or moved to the Firefox 93.0 release ?
Firefox doesn't have a problem with upgrading a profile, but won't downgrade a profile to prevent issues when files are possibly upgraded to a newer scheme and that are no longer compatible.
