update 48.0.2 has disabled some extensions, security and startup programs

I am getting seriously tired of this nonsense.

Four at least the fourth or fifth time a Firefox update has messed with my computers settings and programs. This time update 48.0.2 has disabled my surfing protection extension, HP Simple Pass and Norton Identity Safe, saying that the programs "could not be verified for use with Firefox and has been disabled". Naturally, and one again, this arbitrary action has been taken with no information (or even option) on reversing the blasted change.

On top of that, because of these changes my security programs and a few other startup programs have been blocked from running at startup.

Would somebody please tell me how to reactivate these essential items or, preferably, show Firefox's techies how to create an update that doesn't screw with the users settings?

Tired of that nonsense? How about not using applications that insist on providing silly little add-ons for Firefox, from companies that don't provide timely updates for those add-ons to keep them up-to-date with Firefox.

And that's not an "arbitrary" disabling of those add-ons, those companies should know fully well what the requirements for Firefox add-ons are and yet they flout the rules that every extension developer is expected to follow, resulting in their users getting upset with Mozilla over their failure to comply.

In conclusion, Firefox does not block security applications, only the silly little add-ons that don't meet Mozilla requirements.
