Can't open Firefox, tried to re-install and was told to close before installing

Apparently Firefox things it is open on my computer, but it won't open, and when I try to re-install it continues to tell me it is open and must be closed before re-installing.

Hi, see if it is running in the Task Manager - Ctrl+Shift+Esc > Applications tab, if it is, select it and click End Task.

Hope that will help.

The problem may the firefox.exe is running in background.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over the problem
