Except where noted, everything here applies only to Firefox 144 and the Firefox 140.4 ESR. Firefox 140 is the current ESR so, going forward, no enterprise changes will be backported to Firefox 128 ESR.

Bug Fixes

  • Some print options still showed up when printing was disabled. This was fixed in bug 1889569.
  • Windows Kerberos authentication with extended protection did not work with a SHA384 SSL certificate. This was fixed in bug 1895277.

Policies

  • The GenerativeAI policy has been added to allow the control of various features that use Generative AI. The only option that applies to the ESR is Chatbot.
  • The VisualSearchEnabled policy has been added to allow disabling Google Lens. This does not apply to the ESR.
  • The Preferences policy has been updated to allow setting the preference security.webauthn.always_allow_direct_attestation.

Special Notes

We are extending Firefox 115 ESR support for Windows 7/8 and macOS 10.12/10.13/10.14 users until March 2026.
