Cut and paste not working--when I paste Thunderbird puts the pasted text in the line BELOW where I've placed the cursor, making editing harder.

This question was asked three years ago by someone else but the thread is archived. I have this problem too and it is particular to editing an e mail. It occurs even if the pasted section is only one word, and it does not go beyond the line-break.

I control X the word or words I want to move, I place my cursor where I want them to appear and they appear on the line below, taking the following text with them. This means deleting the space back to the line above, then hitting enter to put the rest of the text back where it should be.

I can't be alone with this, surely?
