Message doesn't show in local folder but I can find it when I search for it

When I look for a message that I know I moved to a local folder, it isn't there. However, if I search for the message, it shows up in the search list and when I click on this, it states the location as the local folder (where I was looking for it). The only thing I can do is forward the message to myself again (from the search list). I'm not sure why this isn't showing up when it must be in the local folder. Any advice, please?
