Hello. I have been unable to send email from one of several POP accounts on Thunderbird (v 115.18.0). I believe this occurred after Network Solutions changed the SMTP server for that email account. I am able to send email from my Gmail IMAP account setup on the same Thunderbird program on my PC. I have tried all the port and authentication settings for SLS/TLS and STARTTLS, changed/updated passwords, etc. I do not get any error messages, just never receive the test email I send to my other accounts. I updated the SMTP server on my iPhone mail app to the new NetSol SMTP and it works on that platform. I just cannot get it to work on Thunderbird on my PC. NetSol support said to delete account and start over which is not possible as it is my business email account. Also, the inbox is too large to back-up to an external drive. Any suggestions? Running "Mozilla Thunderbird v115.18.0 (64-bit)" on my Windows 7 laptop. I want the Inbox to display "Headers" such as "Date", "Size", etc. But I cannot seem to make this happen. Please help me. Thank you, Ron

Cannot send or receive email all of sudden in Thunderbird. When I the click the messages icon, nothing happens, and I get "Could not connect to server mail.twc.com; the connection was refused". When trying to send a m,message I get "Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because connecting to Outgoing server (SMTP) mail.twc.com failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections. Please verify that your Outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again." No settings were changed and everything was fine when I put the computer to sleep. This happens on both a Win 7 and 11 machine Email is a Time Warner (now Spectrum) Road Runner account (twc.com). Spent an hour with Spectrum, and they say this is a third party (Thunderbird) issue. A friend has the same setup, and is having the same problems that started at the same time. Win 11 version 150.02 Win 7 115.18.0 (latest available for win 7)

The thunderbird server seems unresponsive and doesn’t recognise my password - what can I do? I can get my emails on my iPhone, luckily, but feel safer from scamming when opening them on my laptop. Please advise - thanks. Ps I have recently donated to Thunderbird!

The STAT command did not succeed. Error getting message number and sizes. Mail server pop.gmail.com responded: [SYS/PERM] Your account is not enabled for POP access. Please visit your Gmail settings page and enable your account for POP access.

This just happened today. I'm using Windows 7 and Thunderbird version 115.18.0 (32-bit) . No settings have been changed and, there have been no problems signing in to my accounts until today. (I have a few accounts handled by Tbird.) The Microsoft sign in window comes up for me to sign in but there is no longer an option to sign in with your password so, I can't sign in and use my accounts in Tbird. I did click on "other ways to sign in" but no "sign in with password" there either.

P.S. Wow. Crazy stuff. I closed Tbird and reopened it and, the previous Microsoft sign in window came up with the option to: "sign in with password". I am assuming it was fixed by restarting Tbird. Anyhow, "back i business" again.

I've downloaded Thunderbird in office PC and on PC at home. Almost I working in office PC or web mail but when I open Thunderbird at home, all my email lost in web mail and it's happened for such times. Is it a setting problem?! or, if it will be happen if using Android version ?! Thank you for your kindly assist!

I am unable to access my mails on Greenby with Thunderbird and I suspect the password is incorrect. I can read my mails on the Greenby server and know the necessary password but cannot work out how to enter this into Thunderbird! As I am no expert, a simple guide would be most appreciated! Thanks in advance. Roy

When I send photos from my phone to my imac inbox, same email address, or when a third party sends me a verification code, "get messages" is very slow showing results. Sometimes minutes, so I have to go through several verification attempts. The primary email account is gmail. My ISP is comcast.net. I don't know if this matters, because slow Get Messages is recent. It used to work very well

Hi. My main email address was accidently removed. All my previous emails are stored locally thanks to Thunderbird IMAP syncing up to now. I'm currently in touch with my ISP in order to restore my email address. This will be done in a few days : I am going to get my email address back, but all the emails on the servers will not be restored. Therefore, when the server is restored, it will be empty.

I fear that when it's done, during the next IMAP sync, my Thunderbird will delete all local emails.

What can I do to prevent that, or circumvent it ? I would like for the local state to be uploaded to the server, not the distant state to delete everything locally.

Used Outlook Mac 2011 for years. It crashed and could not retrieve from Time Machine. Lost everything since 2021. Apple was able to restore my calendar in Calendar app but I'd like to have integrated app and am trying Thunderbird for email. I would love to use it's calendar and contacts. I am nearly 90 and it's hard to learn new tricks but I'm trying. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

I've been using TB for many years, and without warning, when it tries to down load my mail from the Proton mail server, it says it can't find the folder "Inbox". I've tried to "repair" that folder a couple times unsuccessfully. I've restarted the TB program a couple times, but nothing changes. The error shows up on the bottom "instruction line". I've gone through all my settings and find nothing amiss. Not sure where to go from here. -- Just noticed that I had about 80 emails in that Inbox folder that are now missing completely. Normally, I move read emails to there respective folders, and leave important ones in the Inbox for followup. One significant note here, is I'm still using Win 7 premium. So far it hasn't been a problem. Thanks a bunch, Gerald

I've used TB for many years, and keep it up to date. But it suddenly stopped downloads from my email server. Normally everything comes into my Inbox folder and after reading, they are either put into their respective folders or deleted. I had maybe 60 or 70 retained for later attention. (Like due pymnts)

I've tried everything I know, even the mail server connection, but somewhere in the process, I lost everything that was saved in the "Inbox" folder. I got to looking for the profile file, and only found 1 that was recently dated. Not sure if a rebuild would be advisable. Nearly all my (50+) folders show up as normal. Just can't find why the Inbox isn't recognized.

I tried using TB in both safe mode and troubleshoot mode, to no effect. I DO have win 7 Ultimate and hasn't ever been a problem. The error message I get is: "The mail server for account ***** responded with 'mailbox INBOX does not exist!' The name of the folder is "Inbox" as opposed to the capitalized version, but nothing has changed for years, and never been a problem. Go figure??

After _years_ of use and storage, I'm really hurting without it. Any help or suggestions would sure be appreciated. gshantz

i can still see my email folders but these popups appear for each email account in thunderbird (mac osx high sierra) never saw them before so seems something has been compromised? tried to screencap but it's only showing about: url but urls zip by and was able to catch the url a few times earlier but not now.

When I highlight multiple messages for deletion; it can take up to a minute to respond; when I am working with gmail or proton, the deletion is immediate. When I am accessing Reagan with browser, the multiple deletions are also immediate. Appears to definitely be a handoff issue. Suggestions? I use Thunderbird on 2 win11 os and 2 linix mint 2.1 machines. I only delete and store to local on one machine (win11) ver/build 23H2: 22631.6199.

In Thunderbird, when reading an eMail, if the Junk or Delete button is clicked on, that eMail gets marked as Junk or Deleted. For either of those selections, the next message immediately gets automatically opened without someone clicking for that to happen.

Our Suggestion is to change the Junk and Delete button features so that only marking an eMail as Junk and deleting it happens, without automatically opening the next eMail. Also, when deleting an open eMail, change it so that deleting it is all that happens, without automatically opening the next eMail after deleting one.

And yes, I could not find anything in the "help" system that related.

I maintain a Hotmail account and copy traffic to my local system. Upon reboot Thunderbird shows some files from 2024 and no local folders where I stored all my re-directed traffic.

I've run some system / disk checks and no obvious problems.

Any thoughts besides upgrading to current OS etc? Is there a Thunderbird backup solution to move files away from the active drive to protect them?
