Hi, I have been using TB for many years, when suddenly 4 days ago ( Feb. 1st.) it started as a brand new install, asking to set up a new account, I got no previous warnings or had other issues.
Since then I have done several attempts to get it connected with my profile, among others: - Everything from this article https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-where-thunderbird-stores-user-data - Importing the Profile from Functions > Import > "Import from another Thunderbird installation" - Reinstalling TB ( without removing the profile)
All of it with no succes, there is no accounts, and no mails, only some empty local folders so I'm running out of good ideas, and I really hope you can help!
BTW, somehow the addressbook has content, as the only thing.

Two of the three accounts work fine but one account will give me this error message. I back up the Thunderbird folder every week and copied the backup to the working folder and I still have the issue.
I've been getting multiple emails of the same in a few folders. I do have a lot of Filters set up for the account affected.

Update: Apologies, seems it was my mistake. While setting up the signature in the first place I *did* pick up a named anchor from a template <a name="_MailAutoSig">. It was buried in the generated HTML, and I have now found and removed it. Problem, such as it was, now solved.
Is there any way either to remove the yellow anchor symbol which Thunderbird inserts in front of my signature, or to tell the client not to display the symbol? I didn't put one in the HTML signature that I use. There's no "remove named anchor" command. It isn't related to the double -- marker, which I've already removed using config. I have no use for anchors, which for me are simply a visual distraction.
Thunderbird is so good in many ways (calendar synch is great - one of my major bugbears with Outlook - also recipient privacy when sending out group invitations) and it can be quite frustrating in some others (e.g. unwanted features that I've had to dig around in config in order to turn off)

While checking mail in my inbox, I opened, then deleted a message (message 1). As has been happening lately, there was a significant pause between my hitting delete and the mesage going away. Then I opened another message (message 2), and I found that it had the header for message 2 displayed in the inbox, but showed the text of message 1 when opened. Scrambled messages and headers could be a big problem.
I logged onto the mail server (gmail) directly. It showed me message 2 with the correct header, and message 1 was in trash.
To fix the problem, I deleted message 2 on the server, and waited for it to vanish from the headers in my Thunderbird inbox. Then, I copied it back from trash on the server. After it downloaded to Thunderbird, everything was fine, but I wanted to alert you to the issue. Something evidently can go awry on TB's end to scramble headers and messages, and that is scary.
Running TB 147.0.1 with gmail(imap) as the mail server. I have posted twice in the past week about issues with gmail, and I am suspecting something going on at that end. My TB installation is brand new since then; the problems with logging on and staying connected that I reported only went away when I removed .esr, rebooted, and did a clean install of TB.
Please advise if this is a known problem, and if there are settings I can tweak to prevent recurrence.

I recently re-installed Win 11 with the help of a Dell tool. During the re-install all of my data files were kept, but not the applications. I've re-installed Thunderbird and it works fine. However, I've noticed that my address book is empty. I've found abook.sqlite through the Profile Folder, so I know the file exists, but how do I connect it to the Address Book link in Tools? [DESKTOP VERSION] The font display size in the email composition window is at least 2 'clicks' smaller that what is actually displayed in the received email. When writing an email I need to do a double Ctrl+"+" in order for the text to be easy to ready. When I read the sent email (sometimes I need to send emails between accounts - I have 14 between my business domain and my personal domain), the text that I entered is the proper size. I can easily see this because of the graphic image in my signature, which is the same size in the composition window as it is in the received email. See attached composite graphic.
Check out the date on the attached email header..
And it always shows the last email I looked at.. and I can't delete it... Any ideas? Thanks

Hello I searched the help articles and was surprised I could not find anything on this. I receive different calendar entry files, in this case a .VCS calendar file, from services I use to use as a calendar entry i.e. a reservation or other. I am able to import this file and create the calendar item in Google Calendar, however if I am on Thunderbird Calendar, I have been unable to discover a way to import. Am I missing this function? What are the steps needed to import a VCS file into Thunderbird Calendar? Thanks Mozilla community! -kozy
