This only recently started happening. This has been tested on 3 different computers. Windows 10 Pro on all three.

With VPN on: Bluemail works fine.

Thunderbird can connect and download messages, but when I try to send a message, it gives an error.

With VPN off:

Bluemail and Thunderbird both work fine.

I use Thunderbirad for years, including small donation when I start to use it. Since a few days I can not open WebMail from cPanel of Namecheap,

Nothing is changed in both servers and ports. In Account Settings Outgoing Server has an option to TEST connection for server. Result failed.

An Attachment is an immage of TEST and RESULT FILED.

In this age, with broken spine and almost immovanle, it makes me very frustrated. Coud you plase reaolve this issue and make Thunderbird to work properly and peace in my mind,

I recently upgraded to a new PC from Windows 10 to Windows 11. For some reason I can not open links in any emails, even if right clicking them. I have gone through all steps here: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Thunderbird but nothing has changed. I have disabled Win Defender completely and still no change.

Any idea what I am missing? I am at a loss at this point.

Hi, I use my Thunderbird installation as a feed reader for RSS. Unfortunately, there are two feeds which aren't updated any more. I can't find an error. The feed is OK, I checked the XML file - the new entries are in the feed. The same feed works with a different feed reader. I already deleted the feed and added it again to Thunderbird. That didn't help. I don't know how to find the error. One of the not working RSS feeds is this one: https://mastodon.social/@islieb.rss

When I execute "right click -> Get Messages" on the feed, nothing happens. No error message... What can I do to find the error?

I'm running Fedora Linux 43, Workstation Edition; Thunderbird 140.10.2esr from Flathub. Everything's up to date.

Starting yesterday for no apparent reason TB has been unable to connect to my email accounts. (IMAP or POP). These include Roadrunner, Gmail and Outlook.

Any Ideas? James

Everything has been fine for several years but this morning I now get error: TB could not connect to server mail.twc.com, the connection was refused. Spectrum says everything is good on their end. What do I have to do to "fix" Thunderbird? I can't send or receive any emails from 5 accounts with Spectrum and the emails are there when I log in at WebmailSpectrum.net..

Cannot send or receive email all of sudden in Thunderbird. When I the click the messages icon, nothing happens, and I get "Could not connect to server mail.twc.com; the connection was refused". When trying to send a m,message I get "Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because connecting to Outgoing server (SMTP) mail.twc.com failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections. Please verify that your Outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again." No settings were changed and everything was fine when I put the computer to sleep. This happens on both a Win 7 and 11 machine Email is a Time Warner (now Spectrum) Road Runner account (twc.com). Spent an hour with Spectrum, and they say this is a third party (Thunderbird) issue. A friend has the same setup, and is having the same problems that started at the same time. Win 11 version 150.02 Win 7 115.18.0 (latest available for win 7)

I'm getting "Thunderbird can't connect to the server" message, so I can't download messages. However, a message or two will finally download 1-2 hours later.

Same problem on 2 laptops, both running Windows 11. But I know my emails are coming in as I can view them via Spectrum webmail. So the problem isn't the Spectrum servers.

I've logged out and back into Thunderbird, and have re-booted my laptops. No luck. What to do?

Also, is there a place to report problems directly to Thunderbird?

All of a sudden today I'm getting the message "could not connect to server mail.twc.com; the connection was refused." So, I'm unable to send/receive email. I called Spectrum and they said go to Spectrum.net. Yes, I was able to get my email that way, but that eliminates the ease of using Thunderbird. I've read all the messages about this issue, including changing various settings, but none have helped. Spectrum says nothing has changed on their end and it must be a Thunderbird issue. My current settings are: Incoming: Server Type: POP Mail Server Server Name: mail.twc.com Port: 110 User Name: [my email address] Connection security: None Authentication method: Password, transmitted insecurely

Any other suggestions?

I have been trying to add my accounts to Thunderbird and had good success with gmail but wasn't able for Microsoft accounts. As I said in another thread (can't find the message anymore), I have 2 microsoft email account (one live.ca and one hotmail.com) and they both don't work. I was able to add them in Outlook desktop app and EM Client (a non open source software i'd rather not use) through IMAP with success. IMAP is activated in both accounts and as per Microsoft documentation the server is supposed to be outlook.office365.com on port 993. eM Client magically discover IMAP settings to imap-mail.outlook.com instead. Thunderbird opens an OAuth page and then it redirects from microsoftonline.com to localhost and fail with "Unable to connect".

2FA not activated in one account, if that matters. I have nothing running on port 80 if that matters.

Hello. Impossible to connect to an existing Google account. Neither to the "full" account, nor to the Contact list nor to a Calendar of an existing account. Neither to a "private" account, not to a "workspace".

When trying to connect to a Contact list, after the Oauth window and the authorisation to share data from Google accounts, the app answer "Connexion impossible" (I am a French user).

When trying to connect to Calendars, Google's window asking authorisation to share data comes back after clicking "authorise".

Why am I getting this message when I try and send an email from my Mozilla email client: Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.gmail.com timed out. Try again.

I am having issues getting thunderbird to connect to my 2 hotmail accounts over the last week or two. According to isitdownrightnow.com, outlook has been down for about 200 days and is this really the case? My wife is not having any issues with her hotmail accounts, but I am. I have tried several different settings and attempts and did seem to have it setup, only for it to fail again and again.

This is getting ridiculous. I am using Windows 10 Pro and I am using Thunderbird 150.0.1 (64-bit). I am using Avast Antivirus and Comodo Firewall, but my gmail and yahoo mails are just fine. If anyone here has any information that I am missing or maybe I am making some kind of mistake in my setup, I would really appreciate any and all help or suggestions. Every so often I get an error message "Your message was sent but a copy was not placed in your sent folder (Sent) due to network or file access errors." I understand these if I am sending multiple large attachments as I am using Imap and the Sent folder is on the server. But I got it today with a simple pdf attachment. Is there anything I can do to alleviate this problem ?

Hello, I'm attempting to add one of my google accounts to the server. After Google prompts me to authorize Thunderbird to gain access to some of my data, when I click Accept, I get a 502 Bad Gateway nginx/1.29.8 Error. I checked my Thunderbird settings and I confirm that I had Accept all cookies toggled on. Also, I added Thunderbird to my laptop's Firewall and added an exception to accept all incoming connections. I tried going through the process with a VPN, but still no luck.

Email is not linking to server and not downloading emails. All coordinates are correct. When I try to connect it tells me that the account exists. Cannot send email because it is not linking to server. More trouble than it is worth.

After automatic updating to Thunderbird 140esr under MacOS 12.7.5 Thunderbird will not connect to provider. Same happens with installation of version 150. Same happens under Mac OS Tahoo. I can't make a new profile because of this. What can I do to solve the problem ?
