I keep getting crashes in Android tablet with the current version. Crash reports keep mentioning something to do with Java. This has been a consistent problem for the last few versions. What gives?????

I need to change some config settings to prevent some problems that corrupt the screen or crash Firefox on android almost every day. I found that using a Bluetooth reduces the frequency of these problems, but it still happens and is very frustrating.

I am experiencing an issue with Firefox on my Poco X7 Pro (HyperOS). Pages in tabs automatically reload when returning to the app after switching away, even after only ~1 minute. This happens despite all of the following:

- Battery optimization disabled (No restrictions) - Background activity allowed - App Lock enabled in Recent Apps - Tabs → Close inactive tabs = Never - Delete browsing data on quit = Off - Developer options → Background process limit = No limit - RAM Plus active (~12GB available)

In comparison, Chromium-based browsers like Vivaldi maintain tabs for hours on the same device without reload.

  • OS:** HyperOS (please add exact version / Build number)
  • Firefox version:** (147.0.3, e.g., 125.0.1)
  • RAM:** 12GB RAM plus active

• • Steps to reproduce:**

1. Open Firefox and navigate to any web page. 2. Switch to another app or go to Home. 3. Wait approximately 1 minute. 4. Return to Firefox. 5. Observe that the page reloads and previous state (scroll position, forms, media) is lost.

• • Expected behavior:** Tabs should retain their state unless the system completely kills the Firefox process.

• • Actual behavior:** Pages reload automatically, even when the process is still in memory.

• • Logs / Attachments:**

- adb logcat / bugreport (firefox_reload_log.txt or bugreport.zip) - Optional screen recording demonstrating the issue - Timestamps of occurrence for reference

Could you please advise if there is a recommended configuration for HyperOS/Poco devices, or if a workaround exists to improve tab persistence for Firefox (Gecko engine) under aggressive memory management?

Hello, My firefox app stoped working today(version for androids). I uninstalled it and installed it twice but it still won't work. When I open it, it stops working after a few seconds and I recive a notification that it crashed. What should I do?

Lately my Firefox app window will just randomly close while I'm using it. I notice most often on Facebook, but that's because it's the most often used page.

When I reopen the app, it's like I just opened it, not like it got minimized.

What's wrong with it? I have it updated to current version, as well as I've run malware and virus scans to see if it's my phone. Nothing found.

Ever since I switched my search engine to duck duck go I've noticed that from time to time the firefox app deems to freeze up and either it continues or just crashes.

My mobile app Firefox keeps crashing on starting it reinstalling doesn't help it used to work at some point but now it doesn't.

My phone is OnePlus 13 it has the latest EU updates. I can't seem to figure out why it crashes.

I installed the latest version from the Google play store. Other versions of Firefox work fine like nightly or beta only the main one crashes.

When watching a YouTube video on Firefox while plugged into Android Auto and then unplugging the USB cable, Firefox becomes unresponsive. The video first pauses and if I try to play I get a spinning wheel. If I open a new tab and try to go to a website, I just get a gray screen. If I open recent apps and close Firefox and reopen, the issue persists. I cannot access any websites. If I open settings and select Quit Firefox, I'm stuck at Clearing Browsing Data... The only way to fix this is to open my phone settings and go to the Firefox app and clear cache.

To me this is a bug that needs to be fixed in the Firefox app.

I installed the Firefox update this week on my Motorola Moto G Stylus phone running Android 11. Since doing so, the app repeatedly crashes when I click on something in Collections. Bookmarks not in a collection still work, as do other links on the home page. I have restarted the phone, but it did not fix the problem. It is hard to avoid the confusion that this is being caused by something in the update. Will there be a fix released soon?

Have be3n hav8ng this problem for at least a week, on a Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8 with Android 14 (One UI). About 20cto 30 seconds after launch, the browser abruptly closes back to the home screen. Have tried resetting the tablet, clearing some old apps out, etc., but thr problem persists.

Can SOMEONE help me figure this out, what should I do, etc.? I am going crazy fighting this..

Whenever I upload a file via my phone (Samsung Galaxy A55 5G), Firefox shows the upload prompt (selecting where the file is going to be) then crashes on its own.

I noticed this when I was using Canva, then tried a few more sites and the upload-crash problem persists all throughout.

Is there any way to troubleshoot this?

Firefox doesn't work on my pixel 7. Firefox should download updates automatically to fix this issue for secure websites. Also, you want us to go through all these steps to fix Firefox? It's not our problem. It's yours. I'm just going to have to delete Firefox. It doesn't work anymore and you don't want to fix it

Hi, I’ve noticed that Firefox on my Android device often crashes or freezes whenever I try to launch or access certain modded APK-based games. I’ve already tried clearing cache and disabling extensions, but the issue still happens.

Is there any known fix or setting that could help Firefox handle these links or game launches more smoothly?

HELP!!!!

Hello My Tabs are automatically crash after sometime i open it, all tabs are crasg out and i reload it again and again this is very annoyed, what can i do to stop reloading or crash

I’ve observed a consistent issue across several Android devices using Firefox (latest stable version). When trying to launch or interact with certain modded APK-based games—especially those with unpacked resources or modified DEX structures—Firefox either freezes or crashes unexpectedly.

Interestingly, this behavior doesn’t occur on other browsers like Chrome or Samsung Internet. In fact, some third-party websites seem to handle these APKs with stable performance, suggesting it's not an issue with the APKs themselves but possibly how Firefox handles local server callbacks, file-based intents, or memory allocation under WebView.

I’m wondering if this could be tied to Firefox’s stricter security sandboxing, CSP enforcement, or service worker management?

Are there any logs, flags, or debugging routes I can use to isolate the problem further?

Crashes contantly, all the time, after several minutes use it will suddenly disappear and lose everything, tabs, etc., but crash reports are never produced. When it happens the app seems to collapse into the right lower corner of the screen, like a balloon deflating. The Firefox has been uninstalled and reinstalled several times without effect. Why, and what to do about it ?

Firefox keeps crashing and loosing what I type on pages like this.

It happenst the most if you have to check another application or answer a call. But, it also does this when copying over passcodes from other applications to a webpage.

This frequently happens with the latest version on the Android mobile platform.

I didn't change any setting personally anf this has never had any issues until now.

Fix my Firefox so it does not crash when I try to use it. It occurred when I tried to use email and Duck Duck Go. I have not been able to accomplish anything except this complaint since the Upgrade this morning.
