Until recently, I resisted allowing updates for Firefox because of the announcements of changes to prevent access to some technical kinds of website which I use. These include the public websites of the Paris Observatory which include useul informational ftp pages with important text, data and software files.
I did recently allow a Firefox update, and now I find that I am cut off from access to these ftp pages. How can I re-enable access to ftp? If it can't be done in the new version of Firefox, how can I return to an older Firefox version that does allow such access?

How do I initiate a VPN and are there free VPN's? When I visit this particular site it states, "from your site login activity" and goes on from there what they want to do. How do I make it more difficult for a web site to be able to track my log in activity? Will a VPN solve this problem? Or, does Firefox have various accessories that can do the same thing? I got mad at a website that wouldn't let me right click menu to save pictures, so I stubbornly saved them via less efficient means, in the process I picked up the Long Screenshot extension and this had an error shortly before or after I had an issue with Lightshot not appearing, other extensions did not appear either when I added them during this time period, but now these all appear with the exception of Lightshot, which gets deleted and reinstalled only to not appear, that of course being the problem, though I will also say that a right click menu not being there is like reaching onto my computer and pulling my finger away, sites that do that should be given the cold shoulder somehow, at least.

I upgraded my FireFox to the latest version 88.0 today, and noticed some changes on right click menu. In the old version, the keyboard shortcut key is a to copy a link, but now it was changed to L. That is really inconvenient. As you know, when you right click a link using the mouse, your right hand is still holding the mouse, and not easy to press the letter L on the keyboard.
The old menu option is "Copy Link Locaton", but the new one is "Copy Link".
Is it possible to customize the keyboard shortcut of right click menu, please?

Many websites display that old setting associated with my info/reply. In my canned responses, I can change/update my name, phone #, etc....but cannot repeat cannot change the email address. The block displays: [edited email from public] @cox.net. I have went to settings, privacy & security, etc in your application to search how I can update this Old Email Address. Your application always sends email to my correct address: [edited email from public] @gmail.com but when I reply to the site/request my response/page displays the old incorrect email. Please Please advise how I can correct this severe problem. In the search section of Firefox for a topic in Firefox right at the home page... when I type a topic to search.... it transfers my typed information to the very top of the page leaving the middle title box for search blank. I can't see what I'm typing in properly because of this...........
In Microsoft Edge this type in search works perfectly...You type it in the big search box and it then searches perfectly...and you can see better what your typing in......
In Firefox it's showing a search box to type in your information but converts it to this tiny box on top of the page.....it's terrible to use compared to Edge....
Can this be modified to work like the search page in Microsoft Edge with a Firefox update?
