Dear Firefox Support Team,

My Mozilla Account was Accidentally Deleted Today and I'm Looking to Recover my Data (History / Passwords / etc.). Is There any Way to Do so?

Mozilla, in their infinite wisdom, sent me a note about something new in firefox, by displaying it in a new instance of Firefox.

It wasn’t until I closed my normal session, that I realised a new instance of firefox was also running, and shut it down on.

In shutting the new instance down after my usual session, it overwrote all my normal tab settings🤬

Q1. Are my normal tab settings recoverable? Q2. Why did Mozilla think it a good idea to open a new instance of Firefox to send me information, rather than simply open a new tab.

NB This is in Windows 11

Firefox updated to v144.0 and deleted ALL bookmarks in the process. ALL troubleshooting efforts described by Mozilla are not accurate and do not resolve the issue. Given the >25% ratings on those trouble shooting pages, I'm betting a LOT of others have the same problem.

Can anyone provide ACTUAL help in restoring my bookmarks?

I restarted my computer and Firefox has deleted my profile, including all bookmarks, settings, history, and add-ons. I had to make a new account using this email and google account which is the same email and google account I had on my old profile. Is there any way to retrieve my old profile?

After the update, a window popped up asking me to select a profile. But my profile, where all my passwords, bookmarks, etc. were, was gone. I couldn't restore my bookmarks because the only one available was from today and it`s "clean." Is there any way to restore my account data? Because everything was there: settings, bookmarks, passwords, history.

I opened a profile that I had just used recently to a blank tab bar. I closed it and the sessionstore-backup folder did not have a recent backup, The most recent about a week old.

Just for testing, I tried to restore with one of the upgrade.jsonlz4 file, about 2 weeks old, but it also had no session. I then restored one that was 2 months old. That one had a session

Now, Firefox no longer generates the upgrade.jsonlz4 files

I'm not exactly clueless, but I'm not an engineer. For some reason, I had three open Firefox/Mozilla browsers open on the taskbar but connected to one icon. Today, I've lost the browser with all of my frequently used sites, and tons of research, family, friends, World War II, finances, etc. The other two browsers had one tab, and maybe ten-fifteen tabs, respectively.

How do I restore the main browser?

I have lost all my Firefox bookmarks. All gone. I have searched online for solutions, and have seen what appears to be a standard procedure for doing so. Bookmarks>Manage Bookmarks> LIbrary>Import and Backup>Restore

This is where it breaks down for me......I see no date available to use. All I see is "Choose File" and when I click that, nothing happens. That is the dead end I am at now.

Can anyone out there point me in the right direction? Many thanks. Jay

After both a MS and Firefox update, I have lost all my Firefox bookmarks

I have viewed several videos online that showed how to restore them, they seemed straightforward enough, but I always hit a dead end.

Firefox>menu>Bookmarks>Manage Bookmarks>LIbrary>Import And BackUp>Restore>ChooseFile

Once I get to Restore, there are no dates available to me to pick from.All I get is Choose File, but when I click on that, nothing happens. Dead end.

I use the Firefox browser.

While online, as I pressed a letter , Firefox closed, and its icon on the Taskbar disappeared.

After finding a Mozilla support page, and updating the browser, I found that all of my Bookmarks had disappeared.

And even worse. I tapped the 3 bars in the upper right corner to go to > Settings > Privacy Security > Saved Passwords. All of my Passwords were eliminated too. This is disastorous.

Help, I'm 71 years old.
