How do I get Firefox back on the search engine, it is my default but it says goggle search

When I turn on my Mac and click the Firefox browser icon, it will not load. It hangs. I get a "not responding" message and have to "force quit," again and again until FINALLY it loads, after five or more failed attempts. This does not happen with Firefox on my laptop, only my Mac. Both Firefox and my Mac are up to date. Why is this happening? Please help. It happens every day when I try to load the browser. I am about to give up and move to Safari. Relatedly, anyone know if it's possible to export all my bookmarks from Firefox to Safari?

My browser often directs the shibboleth authentication to the sign-in page of my previous university, not to my current ones. An example is provided below: the first link gets automatically changed to the send one. How can I stop the browser from doing this, so that I can log in through my current university account? Browser is open all day. Always multiple tabs open/signed in, Paid & non-paid Apps, Email boxes, Wix, etc, many website tabs up, I do a lot of "research" - to pay my $rent and/or live my life using this "tool". Is my typical behavior. IN THE MIDDLE OF DOING WORK - I need to fix re-load Firefox again and again. . . Interrupted, distracted, observe, deal with so many Tech failures every day from ALL brands, I am struggling to keep my "life" functioning.

I've tried a few other pkcs11.so's on other paths and FireFox just immediately crashes. This one it at least says it can't add it. The module is owned by root and has 644 permissions so I think it should be readable. Brave Browser is working well with cert auth via CAC and I already have the machine fully set up with logging in via CAC, locking screen automatically when CAC is removed, etc etc so I know that at a base level the CAC is working well. Just can't seem to find the proper link glue.
This is NOT the snap version of Firefox either, I am pretty sure. sudo snap firefox commands say firefox isn't installed.

The problem is that no comments at all show up when viewed in Firefox, I have to switch to Safari just to read and engage with the comment forum. Why is this happening? Any ideas? Thanks.

This might be quite "old man yells at cloud" of me, but oh my god I am so fed up of everything putting AI in as a "feature" for no reason.
1) No one asked for this. 2) It is bad at doing whatever it is designed to do. (It's not helpful, it's not even neutrally unhelpful, it's ANTI-HELPFUL.) 3) It is always on by default, or worse, impossible to turn off.
At the very least AI features need to be off by default, because it's rubbish.
Firefox is meant to be a bastion of sanity and safety in a world of exploitative techbros trying to steal our data and trick us into making money for them. So-called "AI" goes against this. Please, Firefox, be better.
As of 20th Nov 2025, here's how to turn off AI features. Go into about:config and set all of these to false (yes, you’ll have to copy and paste them one by one):

How can I remove all my saved passwords from Firefox Sync? On my desktop, I went to Menu > Passwords > Three Dots > Remove all passwords, and they're gone. However, on my mobile phone, they're still there. So the sync functionality is borked. The question is, are the passwords still on Mozilla servers, or is just the sync to my mobile buggy?
Even if I were to delete my FF Sync account, for good measure I'd like to manually delete all passwords from it first though.
Any help welcome.

Default AI makes it significantly more difficult to customize the browser to my preferences (ie, zero AI anywhere) and threatens the privacy that Firefox is known and recognized for. This is an absolutely incomprehensible decisions; it is no longer a "trustworthy" browser if it incorporates AI. Why ruin a good thing??
