The computer keeps downloading new versions, but will not install because of not having correct user permissions. This is my home computer and I can't figure out how to get around this.

I got amazon prime. I go to play a video. It asks for me to install Flash despite the fact Firefox supports encrypted html5 video.

Is this supposed to happen?

This is terrible. I have used Firefox and it predecessors ever since I started using a computer in 1994. Now I am now forced to use IE because I cannot solve my problem which started a couple of Firefox versions ago. I have tried the font thing the hardware acceleration, disabling the add-ons, everything. Pictures, text and buttons are missing. Videos don't work and just display a dead black screen. It's totally unusable. I have done several system restores and even tried Chrome which I hated. I want my Firefox back. I am using Windows 7 Ultimate and the problem is on BOTH my laptop and desktop. I have done virus and malware scans. Is it possible that Super AntiSpyWare or Malware Bytes could have done some harm or removed something from windows that helps FF to work? I have used these programs for years though and they mainly seem to just get rid of tracking cookies. Please help as I am at my wits end. My new tab is set to About:new Tab. Before it use to retain the zoom value i last used on it e,g. 67%. but now it keeps resetting itself to 100%.

I have upgraded a few addons - maybe this has caused something. e.g. CTR, session manager

I have reset the value 67% twice now (e.g. when I am on the page) and both times the About:newtab zoom value has been rest to 100% (e.g. when I next go back to that page).

cookies are allowed on the about:new tab page.

What do I need to do to get About:new Tab to retain the 67% value when I set it.?

Since the update to Firefox 41.0.2 I have been unable to use Twitter.com. When I try to tweet, favorite or retweet the following error occurs. Your account may not be allowed to perform this action. Please refresh the page and try again. There are a couple of other users that have the same issue, however one had tinkered with the Mozilla and the other unresolved.

It started with the updated to 41.0.2 and twitter works in all other browsers, just not mozilla.

I am trying to update Firefox and I get a message that the update failed. There were problems checking for, downloading, or installing this update. Firefox could not be updated because FAILED (Unknown reason).

I restarted my computer and tried again and still got the same message.

What do I do to get the latest update?

I use my desktop daily. My Firefox does not load at all - no matter how I try to start it up. I also have all my program files and tried to reload it using my Firefox.exe file. That stays dormant also. What could have happened and how can I now re-download this program without a browser? I really depend on this computer.

Every web page has annoying ads and popups. I have Norton 360 with a clean report. I have updated, reinstalled adblock plus. I have updated Firefox. Nothing works.

By default, adblock plus allows "Mysiterules" as enabled and I can not disable it.

Every website has popups that will not allow me to view the page unless I interact. If I open several tabs to view multiple pages, there's mystery advertising playing on a page with no visible ad.

It's making Firefox useless.

My home page consists of two tabs; the 1st is Google.com & the 2nd is webmail.juno.com. When I open in IE8, both tabs have Unicode (UTF-8) encoding. When I open in Firefox, the 1st has Unicode (UTF-8) encoding BUT the 2nd tab ALWAYS has Western encoding WHY? I must always manually go to View/Text Encoding and change it every time. IE8 does this automatically - How can this be fixed in Firefox so both tabs always open in Unicode?

When I try to attach documents (Word or PDFs) to an email....it takes a long time while I see "attaching documents" on my screen. When that finishes, and I try to send the email, I am told to wait until documents have finished loading. There is never any activity in my downloads for that session. It used to work just fine before the upgrade to El Capitan.

My temp file is locked on read only. I have tried to turn it off in safe mode and nothing seems to work. I checked for viruses using a deep scan in safe mode cmd and nothing was found. I am using Widows 7 and cannot install a backup drive or update any programs.

Setup: imac 5K Retina with a secondary LCD screen attached via thunderbolt-HDMI interface

Two problems were noted after Firefox updated version 38.0.5: 1. Problem #1: When I open webpage on imac (primary screen), it opens OK, then if I move it to the secondary screen it does not display properly. Looks like a second copy of the same page 1/4 size of the original is superimposed on the upper left corner. See Attached screen shot #1

2. Problem #2: When I Open a webpage on the secondary screen, it opens ok (see #2 sceen shot) , then if I move it to the primary screen (imac), it is not displayed properly. Looks like the page is displayed on the primary zoomed in. See attached screen shot #2 (on secondary screen) and #3 after being moved to the primary screen (imac)

So every time I'm YouTube or other video browser I get a white overlay. I dont know when this problem started nor do I know how to fix it. I reinstalled all my Java, Adobe Flash and Firefox, I still have the issue. Any help or some sort of lead would be great. Thanks

I was the one having a problem with crashing on futurelearn.com. I don't know where to start with this. Again, I will click on a link on the page, and the browser crashes. This is the only site I have this much of a problem with.

Every time I open Firefox a second tab is opened by ZenMate asking that I activate ZenMate. Since I have never activated it, it does not appear on the list of installed programs in Control Panel. I do not want to install it and do not want to be bothered continually with this tab, which is the active tab upon opening Firefox. If I remove whatever it is causing the tab to open, is there anything else that should be removed to completely remove traces of ZenMate?

The search bar in the "Awesome bar" has recently stopped offering search suggestions, either from my search history or from Google itself. When I control-click in the search bar, "search suggestions" has a check next to it, and it is also ticked in the Preferences.

I've re-set network.http.speculative-parallel-limit to 0 and then set it to 6 and 10, with no difference. Re-starting the browser makes no difference.

I've been having problems with Javascript seeming to just quit working after the browser has been running for a while over the last several updates, which affects things like comment loading on some sites, Java-based menus not working, etc. but I don't know if that would be related to this problem. A re-start didn't solve things in this case, not today anyway.

When trying to import a database (.sql) in phpmyadmin using firefox nothing happens and eventually I get the message:

Request Timeout

Server timeout waiting for the HTTP request from the client. Apache/2.4.10 (Win32) OpenSSL/1.0.1i PHP/5.6.3 Server at localhost Port 80

When using Chrome it works perfect.

Thanks in advance for having a look at this problem.

Earlier today I kept getting error messages when I tried any of the sites I use on a daily basis: eBay & My Yahoo. I kept getting the "Problem Loading Site" message -- of various kinds. I tried over and over, and even had problems accessing Firefox Help. Finally I clicked on "Refresh Firefox" and all seems OK now, so far. the problem is that all my add-ons are gone, especially the ones I installed a few weeks ago to increase my security, as suggested in your e-mail to me on September 30, linking to the site:

Now, I really like those add-ons, and had installed most of them, but am now wondering if one or several of them were causing my problems with all the error messages earlier today. Before I re-install any of those add-ons, I'd like to know more abut them -- especially since the error messages have been cropping up with some regularity since I installed them, though it was only today that those error messages became a real obstacle.
