I can't load ejournals (eg, JSTOR) and other sites my public library subscribes to. When I go to the resource, I get the message "Sorry, we were not able to authenticate you for access to this resource. Please adjust your Internet Security software to allow referring URLs." My default is to block third-party cookies; I tried allowing all cookies, and blocking cookies from hclib.org. The last option got me to a page where I enter a barcode, but then to the same message. I tried allowing pop-ups, but that didn't change anything. I've asked a librarian, who told me that I have to allow cookies and possibly pop-up windows, and said security software such as Norton, a firewall, or pop-up blockers could be the problem.

This is the same problem as http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/880202 , but with Firefox 3.6 on a Mac (I have the same problem with my other browser, Safari), and without Norton or any other security software that could be problematic as far as I know.

Hi, When I bookmark a website page is this information being held by the Mozilla Corporation or only on my computer? Same goes for the various settings in Tools > Options > (tabs) (General, Tabs, Content, Application, Privacy, Security, Advanced)? I am using Firefox 3.6. Even if I have turned off alot of the keep history, passwords, etc, will, like with most businesses, the options I have previously selected, be held for 7 years, and who would it be accessible by? Thank you for your time.

I am currently running Firefox 3.6.27 with MAC OS 10.5.8 - I can't afford a new laptop. I would like to contact Firefox directly to ask about security, etc with Firefox 3.6.27 - is there any way to contact them directly? thanks

I just keep getting the same exact e-mail from the same person over and over again every several minutes. It always says the same exact date (which is from several days ago now) and it keeps saying the same exact time.

I had to force log off, and when I opened up firefox again it started a new session. I've tried about:sessionrestore and sessionstore just had the sites for the new session. I had months of research and kept around 200 tabs open(through multiple layers of sessionrestore) and going through my history isn't an option. I'm guessing because of the multiple layers of session restores that I have a habit of making, they have to be stored somewhere. Is there any way for me to recover my session?

before i ok'd your update, on my internet i had yahoo as my ISP appear on the page prior to going to another www. now it comes up with mozilla, instead and I WANT TO RETURN TO YAHOO. am sorry i am not computer literate, so i dont really know how to explain very clearly, sorry

Every time Firefox is updated or a new version issued, it gets worse and worse with more problems. I simply do not have the time to deal with it. How can I turn off these automatic updates and improvements that you force on me even if I do not want them? I do not have the hours and hours required to research troubleshooting information and read pages of meaningless nonresponsive mishmash. Why can't you leave me alone with the version I have now. I am perfectly happy. Please leave me alone and do not automaticaly update or change my software when it is turned off. Thank you.

Old machine (desktop) runs Win2K and FF 3.6. New machine (laptop) runs Win7 but has no browser (except IE). Want to put current FF (10?) on laptop and transfer profile from desktop. Can't put current FF on desktop because current Flash won't run on Win2K. Profile, I presume, includes bookmarks, passwords, form help (auto-completion of (e.g.) email add.) and all add-ons. I can find (thanks to article here) the profiles on both machines. Can I just copy and overwrite the presumably blank one created when I install current FF on the laptop? If not how do I do it?

When I first load Firefox, the autocomplete feature works, but after I use it on a few websites, it stops working and I must exit Firefox and reload it to get it to work again. I am using a Macbook Pro running Leopard.

The browser is slow now... I would like to find something that is similar to this. I don't understand why Firefox 3.6 has to be changed. Not everyone can afford newer computers

At the top of the page, between the address of the page I'm on and the tabs that are open is a line that starts with "Most Visited" and also includes Amazon, aBay, Yahoo, etc., all of which I want to keep. But there are also a number of other links that I don't want but can't find a way to delete. I've looked at suggestions til my eyes bugged out of my head, but nothing I've found allows me to get rid of them. Only one of them is something I saved, but it is no longer usable.

I downloaded the most recent Adobe FlashPlayer 11.1.r102 but that didn't help. I cannot view the slide show, and as for the vids, they only open using the external VLC program.

I'm running Windows 7 x64 SP1 fully updated. I've had this issue on multiple machines running Windows 7x64. The latest incident is on a brand new computer build. It also caused my graphics card to time out. From my event viewer Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered.The latest Nvidia reference drivers are installed as well as Java 6 update 31 32bit.

I decided to downgrade to FF 3.6.27 for the stability.I hope this helps someone else with one less headache to deal with during the day.

I have tried Speedtest.net several times without seeing any results I am a new subscriber to FIOS and a rep suggested to use this for measuring speeds. where aree the resulys viewed
