Firefox version 96 - I can no long go to Google Drive and have it zip files for me to download. I am getting an error saying I don't have 3rd parties cookies enabled. I have not changed a thing. The only thing that changed is this Firefox update.

I rolled back to version 95 and it was fine. I told Firefox to let me know when I need to update and I decide and then it proceeds to update itself (again).

Any reason why I am getting the cookie error? I checked all my allowances in Firefox settings and in my antivirus, even though I have not changed anything there. And why would it update again after I told it not to?

Even though I have removed the cookies for Facebook, the Manage Cookies screen shows a HUGE storage space. FF v99.0 on Mac

==

from preferences page: Your stored cookies, site data, and cache are currently using 17,179,869,184 GB of disk space.

==

almost all are Facebook storage. I'm feeling a little reluctant to delete all site data. If I clear all cookies and site data will that fix the issue? will the issue re-occur?

I would like Firefox to remember exceptions and store specific cookies that I need for the Microsoft authenticator, and other two-stage logins. Whatever setting I choose (untick delete cookiex and sitedata, assign websites to manage exceptions etc) upon closing Firefox everything is deleted, always. This means I can't use any authenticator to remember me when I want it to do so.

I used a third party cookie extension (Cookie AutoDelete) to whitelist some sites and it worked perfectly fine until an apparent recent update by Firefox. I am on Firefox 101.0.1 on Mac.

Any ideas?

Despite have used Firefox for many years, I am still not completely clear on why there are two separate areas for cookie settings, and how everything works together. In Cookies and Site Data: I check Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed. In Manage Exceptions, the listed domains I choose will not be deleted, but all other domains will. Correct? In History: I uncheck Always use private browsing mode, and I check Clear History when Firefox closes. In the Clear Recent History box, I uncheck Cookies and Site Settings. Question: Will be above choices in both areas get me where I want to be, which is retaining cookies for chosen protected sites, while deleting cookies for all others whenever Firefox is closed? If this is where a lot of people want to be, why are these choices presented in such a complicated way? If relevant, under Enhanced Tracking Protection I choose Custom, and leave all the boxes checked. The sites I choose to use seem to perform well with this option. Is this Security & Privacy area in Settings in need of reworking for ease and clarity?

After updating to version 112 from 111.0.1 Firefox keeps forgetting logins and cookie settings on all websites. After closing and reopening the browser I have to sign in again and the websites will ask for cookie permissions.

I tried reverting to 111.0.1 and creating a new profile and it did not have the same issue. I also tried disabling all extensions in version 112, but that did not help.

Keeping cookies in Firefox; man-oh-man, why is this so difficult?

Hello. I just updated to FF 94 but my confusion pre-dates the update. It would be most helpful to have a clear, concise, non-nerd jargon about how to keeps cookies. I normally delete cookies on domain change. This works for me!

I have a specific domain, a bank, that *now* charges me a fee to log in and check my account: two-step verification. The bank says that if I don't delete their cookies when I log off then I won't be charged a fee the next time I try to log in. Fair enough.

After looking through the Firefox / Mozilla explanations on how to keep cookies, what I read is not clear. Lets start here: many of the explanations show images of the about:config: "Cookies and Site Data. What I see on my screen is not what is presented in the proposed solution. Example: at this page https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1287495 it shows "Manage Permissions". On my screen it says "Manage Exceptions". There is a big difference in understanding between "Permissions" and "Exceptions" and seeing as how I don't know what "Permissions" mean then I'm left with a hole in my understanding of how to proceed. This might sound a minor point to make, but I can not find a clear, up-to-date (FF 93) how to keep selected cookies. So please let me state clearly what I want to know and hopefully a clear, concise answer may appear.

- I want to keep specific cookies, from a specific domain, that were loaded into FF during a session. - The next time I attempt to login to that specific domain, the previously saved (hopefully) cookies will be recognized by the domain and allow me to log in without further charges.

For my purposes the "Cookies and Site Data - Manage Data" function is not relevant. I don't need to make a special election to allow cookies from my bank, nor am I trying to restrict cookies from entering the browser. I simply want to save particular stored cookies for the next attempted login to a specific domain.

Please, and with respect: clear, concise, simple language that is attuned with the visuals / graphics / images of FF 93.

Thank you in advance and wishing you healthy times.

First, check "DeIete cookies and sitedata when Firefox is closed" from Privacy & Security in the settings.

After that, register the Google domain as an exception with "Manage Exceptions".

When I restart Firefox after logging in to Google once, the Google registration information disappears even though I registered the exception, and I have to log in again.

However, there are some sites where my login information will not disappear if I register as an exception.

How can I prevent my Google login information from disappearing even if I restart with the above settings?

Thank you.

I've enabled 'Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed' to delete the cookies and site data when I close Firefox, but I would like to add some exceptions (mostly mail site). Every time I add the exception through Manage Exceptions... button and then I close Firefox, when I restart Firefox, the exception is gone. Is this expected? I don't think so. If so, it's not clear in the UI, as the button is just next to the mentioned checkbox.

I use Pinterest quite a bit and somehow a great deal of pins have disappeared.

This happened once before when I was using Chrome, and I was able to go digging into my cached files and find the cached versions of the thumbnails of my Pins, so I could somewhat recreate them based on that.

I'm not sure how to go about that with Firefox. Would any information (specifically images) be stored from a previous version of a webpage?

Thank you!
