I've used Firefox for years, but recently Firefox is unusable on Mac OS 15.7.2 because it's hogging all the RAM over time. I get a spinning beachball on my MacBook Pro. I look at the RAM being used and it's even over what I have in the computer. I have and always keep Firefox updated to the latest version.

After update tahoe 26.1 update on mac firefox keeps stalling are they fixing this before i switch? I have a lot of tabs and things here but if you keep freezing I am going to switch. Are they fixing this? I already did all the things you suggest online. It freezes, and I can't keep this up?

i run Firefox on Win11. When i go to a website, and open several tabs, e.g., 10 or more, firefox just sits there and no longer works on that site. Basically Firefox is becoming quite worthless as a browser for me. The reason i use it are the extensions. This is something that has happened within the last 6 to 9months or so. What is going on. Anyone else having an issue with the newest firefox in Linux Mint? I don't know what's causing it but when multiple tabs open my address bar and all other primary buttons/icons (including the menu button) don't work, only the download button. Across multiple tabs. Not using any groupings/classifications or any "new" tab features or vertical windows etc.

While running Firefox on MacBookAir with macOS 15.7.2 to browse simple websites I keep getting the below warning message. I may have 2 or 3 other apps open (like Apple Mail, MS-Word, Preview). "Heavy memory usage You're running out of memory and your Mac may become noticeably slower. Consider quitting some applications. Firefox 2,48 GB" So I quit Firefox to re-open again and continue my work. Does somebody has an hint where this message can come from ? Any settings to change on my MAC ? Thanks for helping

Firefox is still freezing when entering incorrect info in the Google Sign-in page (when I try to sign in on www.youtube.com); - if I enter the wronglogin info & press enter, the firefox window becomes useless & I cannot cancel/close the window. & Help menu is greyed-out for the frozen window & any new window I open;

- i have to go to macOS' Activity Monitor & Force Quit the 'AuthenticationServicesHelper' (Firefox), then the window becomes responsive. This makes it impossible to use Firefox & if someone didn't know this, they wouldn't know how to fix it.

- this has been an ongoing issue & the previous time i submitted this, it was removed for "not being a question" (???) but it still important & I still hope it gets fixed someday?

Hello, today I have set up a new account for work and I have trouble signing in. Actually, I manage to sign in, however I am then shown the screen which gives me the option to create account recovery key and the browser freezes completely. I am unable to click on anything, the only option is to go to the Task Manager and kill the program there. Then, when I open Firefox again, I am not signed in (even thought I recieve the email about a new sign-in to mozilla) and have to try the process again, only to experience the freezing browser again. How can I solve this or troubleshoot? I have Win11, my broser is supposedly up-to-date. Thank you! Anna

What are your best tips for optimizing Firefox Desktop for daily use, especially in terms of speed, memory management, and handling multiple tabs without affecting overall system performance?

What causes Firefox to freeze when two video windows are opened, i.e. in a new tab, the video windows immediately start to freeze? I use Windows 11. Other browsers work fine, only Firefox freezes with two windows open.

Hi I always use Firefox on my Apple I-Mac and it has always been excellent but in the last couple of weeks a window pops up to say that Dashlane is slowing down Firefox when I am trying to type in E-Bay. Not yet seen it in any other situation but it it virtually preventing me listing items for sale on E-Bay. Always have Dashlane open on Firefox whenever I am using Firefox/the internet. Today I reinstalled Firefox but it is still doing it. Help please! Kind regards Jeff Worth

I have an issue where my firefox freezes whenever I try to take certain actions inside home assistants music assistant. I have created the following profiler of the issue https://share.firefox.dev/4pPZRPo

I have tried all the recommended settings to mitigate these kinds of problems (remove hardware acceleration, set disable all addons). I don't know where to report this exactly, but I'm hoping someone might be able to see something from the profiler that could illuminate what exactly is going wrong?

Notably this issue does not happen in firefox private mode.

Hi. I have had an ongoing random problem on videos sites where while scrolling, about half way down page it will suddenly have a seizure, stutter, causing multiple copies of the window to jump up and down. If I "slowly" scroll back up to the "quiet" area (midway to top of screen) it will behave normally. I try and watch the video I had been watching when it went nuts, happens again. I 'think' I got by it the other night...somehow I don't think it was me, rather it just happened to snap back into place. It had been happening more frequently several months ago where it was a real problem, went through all the normally accepted ways of cleaning, checking and hunting for others having a similar problem. The latter is where I have normally found the best and most recent inquiry similar to mine. Good part is it's fast and I know it's not just me. Bad part is it's fast and nobody has had time to answer it. Then it suddenly just stopped. In fact, I had forgotten about it! The bane of my daily computer life for weeks was suddenly gone and I forgot about it???? Well, it reminded me today, it's back. Any suggestions? I had thought it was with some Microsoft changes that had been going on and that had seemed to be the consensus but? Thanks in advance.

Hello, for quite some time I have been encountering an issue where the scaling of browser elements gets broken when I unplug my Mac from its dock/external display and then being using Firefox using the built in Retina display. This only impacts Firefox and renders Firefox completely useless until I quite Firefox and reopen it. It impacts all open Firefox windows. The attached screenshot explains it better.

Firefox has been my entire family's browser of choice for as long as I can remember. Which one am I supposed to use now that Firefox won't quit shoving bloatware and diminished performance at me? I'm also seeing articles stating that they plan on making it even worse with more AI. I'm supposed to let them steal my data and turn my browser into sludge with absolutely no benefit to myself? And they're asking me to donate to them on top of it???

Does anyone know of a viable Firefox alternative that isn't a chrome dupe?

Lately when I reconnect to my Mac laptop after a period of sleep, the Firefox browser windows are unresponsive. It seems to be receiving input but does not update the display. I have to quit and reopen Firefox to get it to work again. The menu works, I am able to quit, so it's not like the whole app is frozen. Plus, if I clicked on the "new tab" icon while it was unresponsive, those new tabs show up open after I quit and reopen the browser.
