Hello. After another update, there was a problem with the translation of the settings window. After opening the window, despite the specified browser language (Ukrainian), most of the items are still displayed in English. Attempts to manually edit the settings, reinstalling the browser from a fresh installer on a new system did not help. How to fix it? Windows 11, Firefox 152.0.4

How do I add the Translate icon to my Toolbar - W10 - please?

If I open the following page in Chrome it automatically translated from German to English. https://www.camperprotect.de/p/fahrer-und-beifahrertuerverriegelung-einbruchschutz-2006-2019

I cannot find how to translate it in Firefox. I do not have the Translate icon that is suggested.

Hello, Im using localized (Lithuanian) version of Firefox. Several updates back, Firefox started including russian and Polish in preferred languages by default. Personally i know how to remove those for myself. However, since im managing around 300 computers in a school. This starts to become an issue. In Lithuania we only have one official language. And when pages in a school start opening in foreign (russian) language this starts to be quite annoying. I would love to keep using Firefox but i need help.

as you can see in the image I can't select German as spellcheck language even though I have installed the German dictionary. My Win OS and the browser use English but I want German as spellcheck as well.

What I am missing?

My chosen language is English, with French second and US English third. I want to set French as my translation language but when I select 'Translation Settings' I am presented with a menu that only allows Removal of languages. How do I Add a language ? In this case French.

Dropdown menu changed to "Translate selection to French. Has always been "Translate selection to English". I use it all the time. I don't think I changed anything. How can I set it back to English? Tried this: "To change the translation selection back to English in Firefox, go to the Language section in the General panel of Firefox settings, select English from the dropdown menu, and restart Firefox. This will revert the translation settings to English." Didn't work. System language is English (CA).

Firefox updated itself recently (150.0.1) 64-bit Windows and since then we have US English and our other languages 'Real' English ;-) French and Greek disappeared. We reinstalled them but - sorry about this guys - we would like to remove US English please. I followed some advice from Google but couldn't locate the US-English Dictionary.

It's checked in settings, the US english language pack is installed, I did the about:config thing as well and it's still not working. Oh yeah, also used troubleshoot mode - turned off all addons - and still doesn't work.

If I search for something else it comes up in English. I have gone to settings and set my default as English. I have followed all the instructions, but I still get French. How can I change this. I am not French speaking.

Podobno ma się ona pokazywać automatycznie gdy Firefox wykryje stronę w języku innym niż ustawiony jako domyślny język interfejsu i komunikatów - nie pokazuje się automatycznie, lub Firefox nie wykrywa języka w jakim wyświetla się strona. Za to - w "hamburgerze" (przycisku Ustawień w górnym prawym rogu) pojawiła się opcja "Przetłumacz stronę" - 1 kliknięcie "hamburger", 2 kliknięcie "przetłumacz stronę", 3 kliknięcie - potwierdź polecenie przetłumaczenia strony .... bez sensu !!! Zamiast jednego kliknięcia w ikonkę na pasku adresu !

Żadne to ułatwienie, czy polepszenie komfortu użytkowania przeglądarki - powinno to być poprawione natychmiast i wrócić do poprzedniej formy ikonki wyświetlanej właśnie na pasku adresu !

When I write emails or whatsapp messages Firefox signals as false all the words that don't conform English orthography. I would like to switch language either automatically or quickly. What do I have to do?

Hi, During spellcheck, the option to accept a flagged misspelling using the "Add To Dictionary" appears in the menu. Where are these entries stored? If they are editable I'd like to fix an occasional error. In addition, I'd like to keep a copy of my own additions that can be dropped into a fresh Firefox install.

I am currently in Spain, when connected to certain network parts of my page are auto translated to Spanish, even tho the whole page is usually in a different language and all of my settings are set to "English" I cannot find a way to change this specific setting as it seems to be linked to the provider of internet service directly?

Is there a setting to always show the translation icon in the Firefox desktop address bar?

1. Scenario

I'm visiting a website that is not in my native language. For example, I natively speak English, and the website contains Spanish text.

The Spanish website incorrectly sets lang="en" in the HTML. Here's an example: https://animalessinhogar.com.uy/

My browser's default language is set to US English. When Firefox sees the Spanish webpage declaring the lang="en" tag, it assumes the webpage is in English, and hides the translation icon from the address bar.

1. Issue

The end result is I see this website in Spanish, there's no translation icon in the address bar, and also no way to force a full page translation. The best I can do is select parts of the text, right click, and ask for "Translation Selection to English". This gets very tedious, especially when I have automatic translations for Spanish websites already turned on (browser.translations.alwaysTranslateLanguages = es).

1. Proposed solution

To work around these websites which mis-declare their language, is there a way to always show the translation icon in the address bar?

I had also thought of removing my browser's default language, so that the translation icon would always appear on every webpage. However, that would mean that websites that present different versions based on browser language wouldn't display my native language at first, or might not work at all? So this seems like a less good solution.
