I have Windows 11 and Firefox 124.0.2. Firefox keeps asking to reinstall. I think it is because I keep getting the message that it fails to check for updates. I don't know if I have installed the Microsoft Firefox or the direct Mozilla Firefox downloaded. Maybe that is the problem, but I am not tech savvy. I have used Firefox for many years and like it. I am also too old (83) to deal with these problems. Help!

Recently I noticed that whenever I try to save a bookmark (and I save a lot of bookmarks) there are duplicates of my folders. I don't know why, but somehow at some point all my bookmarks got copied into other folders - Bookmarks Menu, Bookmarks Toolbar, and maybe something else. What's frustrating is that one of the folders is the one I use for convenience to access sites I regularly use, while saving to the other puts it somewhere I can't easily get to (I think it's the copies from Bookmarks Menu), so I have to make sure I'm putting it in the right folder - which is hard to do when they have the exact same name. Something I've found that works is to just find out which folder is the one that is in my toolbar and save it to those which pushes the ones in the Bookmarks Menu out of the quick access list, but that's not always convenient given how many bookmarks are in some folders. Using the bookmarks dupes extension, you can see just how many duplicates there are. I've also attached what I see when I save a bookmark, so you can see the duplicate folders.

I'm running a UI deployment with a web-app and Firefox on an Ubuntu system.

I'm running Firefox with the flag "--kiosk" to place it into kiosk mode (booted from the command line upon system boot). This works fine, and boots up Firefox to the page I want (my web-app) in kiosk mode (full-screen, etc.)

However, I get very annoying popups that are not acceptable for deployments in front of customers. I have tried, but CANNOT suppress all of them, or, when I thought I did, they came back a month later.

Popups:

1. "Keep pesky trackers off your tail. Open my links with Firefox" 2. "Welcome back" 3. Others like this...

These are Firefox browser popups, not related to popups that other websites can put up, and block the entire screen with an overlay until they are dismissed. My deployments are only going to a single web-page that I control (which has no popups) and there is no keyboard on the deployed system, so people cannot navigate elsewhere.

Things I've tried:

1. Firefox is installed via snap, which provides "snapshotting" configuration for the Firefox snap. I loaded Firefox, cleared the annoying dialogs, and then took a snapshot (theorying that I set Firefox configuration when doing this, and I capture that in the snapshot) and re-installed it onto a new system. Still go popups 2. Looked into user.js preferences. I can install this file onto the system, so I looked through https://searchfox.org/mozilla-release/source/remote/shared/RecommendedPreferences.sys.mjs and this is how I initially got all the popups to disable themselves. I looked through that list and tested most of the recommended settings until the popups disappeared. However, after a month or so, I'm beginning to see the popups again.

Any suggestions from Mozilla or others that run into this issue?

I recently updated to 125.0.1 and now get 'failed to check for updates': - when I manually check (help > about Firefox) (see image) - in 'settings' it also shows 'failed to check for updates' (see image) I never had such a problem with previous versions; any suggestions?

I'm on a Mac running Monterey 12.7.4. I've been using Firefox for years with no issues. All of a sudden Firefox can't load any websites. Message: "We can’t connect to the server at www.XXX.ca." But Safari loads all websites with no problems. I can't figure this out.

I have logged out of one Gmail account and want Firefox to use another, but Firefox ignores the one I want to use. How do I get Firefox to recognize a certain Gmail account so I can receive mail?

I don't like getting recommendations in Pocket that you need a subscription to read. Why waste my time giving me the initial information on something, but then when I try to read it, I can't because I already have too many subscriptions. Seems like there used to be an option besides "Dismiss" to not show content from particular sites?

My Firefox browser is up to date but I cannot log on to my Bank website. As soon I enter my Logon info I get logged out, however I can access the site using MS EDGE. This is a recurring problem. The website recognizes Firefox as an valid browser. Occasionally I have been able fix problem by clearing the browser Cookies/History but at present none of that works. Do you have any suggestions? My preferred browser is Firefox so this problem is frustrating.

In Linux Ubuntu I created 4 different launchers for 4 profiles.

Firefox opens the different profiles correctly, but the name of Profile 4 is displayed in the title bar for all windows. This causes confusion when I'm using the different profiles. Furthermore, the icon displayed in the icon bar is also the same for the 4 profiles, although I have configured a different icon for each profile. I ask for help as I need each instance to have its own name and icon displayed correctly.

The launchers look like this:

I'm using the OneTab add-on, Enabled. The icon no longer shows on the Toolbar, though it is on the Menu bar next to Firefox View.

I ran Remove and then Added it again, hoping the Toolbar Icon would reappear = no go, And I lost all URLs already saved, stupid me. To be clear, clicking the Icon on the Toolbar saves all open tabs.

Is there a fix via Preferences? Thanks. gw

Good morning, I have a problem with disappearing bookmarks, but I can organise the backup of the places.sqlite, but I assume that won´t be enough to recover, therefore my question is, which files would be needed or is the one mentioned sufficient?

A blank survey pops up in my homepage each time I open Firefox, I haven't filled it yet since I don't know what it entails and what it is about. There is no option to close it either, and it seems bugged as it isn't going away even after updating the version of Firefox, it is still present on 125.0.2 version. Kindly assist regarding the same. I installed Firefox on a new Dell laptop and imported the bookmarks from FF on old laptp. On my old laptop things are OK. On the new laptop Firefox will ONLY store new bookmarks in the Recently Book... folder, no matter how many times I choose a specific folder from the Location dropdown, even if I only choose Bookmarks Menu without subfolder. Show Editor is checked. I have to manually move new bookmarks from Recently Book..... This is annoying. Can you help? I have not found a forum with this question.

I'm trying to watch videos on Disney plus and Amazon prime. I can't get them to work. I tried various tutorials but many were irrelevant because they referred to google chrome which I don't even have. I tried checking and unchecking the enable DRM checkbox. Widevine never seems to update. I do not know how to install in manually.
