Background: On August 6th morning EST after the August 5 2026 update, attempting to use firefox lead to the window with the "end process" button so I had to close the browser multiple times and then the next time I opened firefox, the bookmarks and history were wiped. I was able to restore using a backup saved on the computer and continue as normal (aside from losing some Cookie Clicker progress, reinstalling Tampermonkey userscripts, and redoing browser extension settings) but now there's an issue with trying to backup firefox data.

Issue: Trying to back up my firefox data leads to a "There was a problem backing up. Try again in a few minutes."

When going to about:config and typing browser.backup.backup-debug-info, I get {"lastBackupAttempt":1786243812,"errorCode":9,"lastRunStep":13}

When looking at Broswer Console, there is an entry saying BackupService: Could not create C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Restore Firefox\desktop.ini: NotAllowedError: Could not write to `C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Restore Firefox\desktop.ini': failed to open file for writing (NS_ERROR_FILE_ACCESS_DENIED) BackupService.sys.mjs:4116:23 but I don't know how to address that.

I use a paid for subscription to Gemini AI. It often creates "visuals" for me apparently using JSON code. These do not show up at all. Moreover, the buttoms and other UI controls do not display well in Firefox. Is there a way to fix this?

I have my settings set to open PDF files in Adobe Acrobat, but the latest version of Firefox has started opening them in their own viewer, which is NOT near as useful, and I then have to download it to open in Acrobat like I used to do. Why? Is there any way to fix it back?

When I use Facebook with my Firefox browser the site just has to many issues. The site keeps hanging up and just sort of stalls out when I try to access messages and notifications that I download from the site. I took the suggestion of clearing my cache. That did nothing. Clearing my history didn't make a difference either. Being this problem doesn't happen with Chrome or Safari, it must be a Firefox problem. So, what more can I do to make using Facebook with Firefox a better experience? Sure would appreciate help.

When I bookmark a website and select edit, it does not show my created bookmarks to save too, nor can I move existing bookmarks to created folders, why not? I have to create a folder, then select all my existing important bookmarks and save them to the created folder. I can not later add any saved bookmarks to the created folder, why not? The Beta version has the same issue. Please make a change to allow for bookmark saving or moving to created folders. Thank you.

Please help, it looks like my passwords are not synced anymore on any Mozilla I use. I sue a Mozilla portable at home and a classic desktop on my office. The synchronyzation works for bookmarks, browse history and download history but not a single password is imported on my sessions ! My files are present : see screenshot01 so my passwords are here. Login.json contains data. So what's the problem. The debug mode said that : see screenshot 02 Thanks for the help

Last month I installed Firefox on my brand new Windows 11 PC. The PC is set up using UK English as the default language and all the applications, including Norton extensions in Firefox v 153.0.3 (64bit), install in English.

The one exception is the Norton AntiTrack extension downloaded and installed from MS Store. It installs in English on MS Edge, but on the same day installed from MS Store on Firefox in French.

I have uninstalled AntiTrack and Firefox from my PC and then reinstalled them after rebooting, but it still insists on reinstalling in French. I can find no way to change the language setting in AntiTrack.

Does anybody have any suggestions to solving this problem.

NB AntiTrack also installs in English on our Android tablet and phones.

After the last update, Firefox won't open. Instead, I get this message:

"Firefox is already running but is not responding. The old Firefox process must be closed to open a new window."

I have closed it within the error message but the error message comes back each time I try to open Firefox.

Firefox popped up an offer to change the screen to dark, which I did. I don't like it, want to change it back. I went to settings but was unable to make the change.

I'm running mac os 10.13.6 and have installed Firefox 118.38 ERS but some websites are not allowing me to proceed due to my system being outdated/unsupported, what can I do about it? Cheers in advance for any pointers.

I'm troubleshooting a Firefox Desktop issue that I haven't been able to reproduce consistently in other browsers.

I use a browser-based precious metal calculator that performs calculations instantly using JavaScript. The page loads correctly, but after changing several input values and navigating between tabs, Firefox occasionally continues displaying an older calculated result until I perform a hard refresh (Ctrl + F5).

I've been able to reproduce the issue consistently using this scrap calculator scrap calculator. The page loads normally, but Firefox sometimes continues displaying an older calculated value until a hard refresh is performed.

The page itself loads normally, and there are no visible JavaScript errors in the Browser Console. However, the displayed value sometimes does not update immediately after changing the weight or purity inputs.

So far I have tested:

• Firefox Troubleshoot Mode
• Disabled all extensions
• Cleared cache and cookies
• Tested a new Firefox profile
• Disabled Enhanced Tracking Protection for the site

The issue appears only in Firefox Desktop. Chrome and Edge update the calculation instantly under the same conditions.

Has anyone encountered similar behavior involving JavaScript-driven calculations, form inputs, or page caching in Firefox?

Are there specific Firefox settings or diagnostic tools I should check to determine whether this is related to caching, page state restoration, or another browser feature?

Running on Windows 11. There are many supposed "solutions" on the Web, but none of them work. I have tried with: about:config, css files, etc. None of them work.

I like Firefox greatly, but this is so frustrating.

The developers have created a solution to a problem that didn't exist. The result is to make Firefox user clumsy.

It would have been nice if they - at the very least - had provided a way to change the 'Profiles' icon position on the menu.

Again, Firefox 153.0.1 (64-bit) on up-to-date Windows 11. Amd Ryzen 5, 6 core processor, 32 GB Ram, 500 GB SSD C drive = 197 GB free.

title sums it up mostly. I've entered troubleshooting mode; no discernible difference. When I switch profiles the issue is resolved even with the same YouTube account. Tried clearing the cache, nothing. Most recent version of Firefox, windows 11.

It seems to be related to video playback but not sure. It was happening while a video was playing full screen, and also after stopping playing/hiding a non-full-screen video.

To catch the issue had to screen record at 240fps. I used Nvidia Overlay to record the issue, but was happening before the overlay was even enabled.

Disabled all addons, made no difference. HW acceleration on or off, still happened.
