My Wife's computer - still on Windows 10 - says it can't start Firefox as it is still running, hitting the "close Firefox now" button just returns us to the same screen. I tried to uninstall and reinstall Firefox it tried to do a "reinstall" it says her profile is no longer available, while inconvenient she still should be able to start it up, but it still gives me the same message. that it is still running and needs closed. Trying to "close it doesn't do anything. I have restarted several times and even did a shut down and restart. Nothing seems to work. I assume some "stub" of Firefox is out there in the system/cache making Firefox think it is is still active but I can't find it to shut it down. Where do I need to go to "end task" on this phantom Firefox?

Other information: 1. We have Norton Security software installed, if that matters. 2. The same seems to happening to Thunderbird, but maybe I need to go to another help forum for that? 3. I am entering this issue from my computer that seems to be just fine with Firefox, so can't send browser data as it is irrelevant to the issue (it's on a different computer and install instance.

I'm trying to use the built-in PDF Editor features after finding out about it but every PDF file I open with Firefox has the options grayed out (as shown in the screenshot). What should I do to re-enable the features?

I'm used to typing one or two letters into the address bar and then the down arrow to access the same handful of websites every day. A few weeks ago, Firefox started randomly moving these around so that the same letters that have always made it open the same URL now opens a different URL and I have to actually search the suggestions. How can this annoying behaviour be fixed?

(a few months ago, the address bar wouldn't delete entries, but this problem vanished as mysteriously as it appeared)

I don’t understand what Firefox is doing. For example, I used to start typing the first few letters of “weather.com”, which I visit pretty much daily, and it would auto fill “weather.com”. Now it auto fills every time with http://www.weatherbase.com/. I don’t know where that came from. Similarly, I used to type the first few letters of “duckduckgo.com” and it would bring up “duckduckgo.com”. Now it brings up a magnifying glass below the url with “Search with duckduckgo”. I am thinking it might be best if I can start over, i.e. clear out any information it’s saved about where it thinks I want to go, and start remembering the sites I am entering now.

I have made Firefox my default browser, and set Google as my default search engine.

I'd like to keep it that way, BUT ...

Every morning when I come to work and open my browser and begin to search .. Yahoo comes up .. or Bing ???? I delete them, and again set Google as the default ... BUT FIREFOX CONTINUES TO REVERT TO YAHOO, or BING SEARCH RESULTS  ?!?!?!?!?!?

Even when I deliberately open Google and search in Google .. the results appear and then suddenly, a new window pops up with Yahoo results, covering up the Google results????

How can I make Firefox respond to the default search setting I choose????

This is intolerable. If I can't get ride of Yahoo and Bing and all these other inferior search engines, then I'm going to go back to using Chrome.

I have used Firefox for years and had AVG free antivirus installed also for years. Tonight I had a popup window open from AVG informing me that AVG no longer support Firefox and have uninstalled their antivirus addon with immediate effect.

Does anyone know of a Free antivirus program that is any good and still supports Firefox?

My Firefox is the most recent version 126. I am having trouble with pop-ups being blocked. I have added the website to the pop-up exception list. When I go to the site, it shows me the little icon showing I have added exceptions for this site. However; the pop-up still gets blocked.

The site is: https://www.foxit.com/ I try clicking the Log In drop down then Foxit Account. Before this would pop-up the log in screen for the site but since version 125, it does not. I just updated to version 126 to see if that resolved it before creating this post but it didn't. Thus I am here trying to get help.

I try to sign-in to my KP.org account and I get a white page with the message (Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete. This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies.) I called KP and they said there was nothing wrong with their site. I added the URL to the cookies exception list with no result. I tried to paste the exact URL of the sign-in page into my bit-warden and it said it exceeded the 1000 character limit. I can sign-in on Chrome, but I prefer to use Firefox. any ideas?

I have a number of music clips I want to put in one or more playlists to use with VLC Media Player. How do I create such a playlist? (If I'm asking in the wrong place, I apologize.)

I am always having this problem of losing all of my open tabs. I am sure I am not the only person who has many parallel task running. Then, for whatever reason, the browser crashes, and in opening the browser, the single "Restore Previous Session" button is the only lifeline back to all of that work.

Would it be too much to ask for a simple session restore feature that is indexed to history? So we could go back to yesterday's session, or last week's, and not lose so much.

This loss of ongoing work happens to me 2-3 times a year, and amounts to untold losses of time, effort, and money.

How do I print a document from email, without the sidebar showing? It doesn't show up on the copy but it moves the document way over to the right with only 1/2 of it showing. I'm Electronically Challenged, Electronically Illiterate, please reply in simple English as I'm living proof that you cannot teach an old dog new tricks! Thank you

Hello firefox, I have been using Google Sheets recently. When I use the mouse wheel on Google Sheets, the screen will not scroll bit by bit, but suddenly the scroll will go to the bottom and right.

The above New Zealand organization is recommending users to use any other browser than Mozilla Firefox. I have used Firefox for many years on their website and about two months ago it comes up with a recommendation to use another browser because Mozilla Firefox will no longer work on their NZ woke/local wank website. I contacted them to ask what the problem was and instead of answering the question they just repeated the message to change browser. I'm sure these local idiots are just being lazy/stupid so I'd like Mozilla to stick a rocket up their dumb-asses. As these twats are the local government lotteries commission I cannot partake of their monopoly online as they won't allow my browser. Please can Mozilla/community help? Hello there, since of late when I try to Google search something through Firefox browser I always get this message: ".....Our systems have detected unusual traffic from your computer network. This page checks to see if it's really you sending the requests, and not a robot...." So I did the test which took me through millions of tests, and finally gave me the search results. I though this was occasional one off thing but to my horror, no! It does always request CAPTCHA test now. I wonder whether Google doing this purposely to discourage Firefox engine search use and encourage to use Chrome instead - which I found no issues with at all! I use VPN of course but how come Chrome does not bar me while VPN is on? Anybody else found this issue? Thank you!

I can open the main

Etrade page but when I then click on anything else all I get is the hour glass which does not go away.  This is ANY other page I try to go to in Etrade.

I go to Edge and have no problems but I have used FF for many years and would like to continue doing so.
