I've disabled this for my google account. So when I search from google.com this behavior doesn't happen. But when I type anything into my address bar on Firefox to search, the first suggestions are from my search history.

I don't want to delete my search history.

I often use my search history to find specific things that I need, but didn't bookmark at the time. I need my search history to be saved. I just don't want to automatically receive suggestions based on it.

Is there any way to turn this off? Even with an extension or something?

Scrolling in Firefox is causing any webpage to scroll many lines at once with a single click, and it seems to be exclusively happening to Firefox, as every other application scrolls normally. I have tried searching here and elsewhere for a solution, and I have tried to change about:config settings based on the recommendations I could find to no avail. I have also tried to refresh Firefox and have used Troubleshoot Mode, but those too have not worked. I have no clue as to what could have caused this, as I have not been messing with any settings prior to this.

In the image below you will see a large photo with thumbnails to its left. I should be able to "mouse-over" the thumbnails to access the related image, or simply click it... but yesterday that all stopped working in Firefox. I just installed "Brave" and it all works fine. Was there an update change that could cause the function to stop working? I used Linux Mint Debian Edition 5 and now I am on the latest 6 Faye. I like using Pandora on FF and have no problem on playback. How ever, the level of sound will start and default to some were of %50-%80. So I'll have to select sound/settings/applications and it'll show FireFox: % not at %100. So I turn it up, every single time. How ever this does not happen on any other webpage like youtube for example. I tried this with LMDE 6 brand new after full updates and no sign in's except for Pandora to get into my account and it'll do the same thing. I have a 5.1 Dolby sound system and my 4K tv hooked up to the PC and either way will do the same thing only for Pandora. This is truly not a big deal, how ever it is annoying as I LOVE to play LOUD music while I game on my Console(s). I fill it is in something with config:ff but I don't want to mess around to much. Any idea's?

I tried opening an .md file with Firefox. It seems that this was a bad idea. Now, my browser keeps opening new tabs indefinitely. I tried rebooting my computer (I am using Ubuntu), I tried removing the handlers.json files from the .modzilla folder in my home directory, but it has no effect: whenever I try to open Firefox this infinite loop goes on right were I left it closing the browser. Please help so I can use it again! Best.

Hi, I develop a firefox kiosk application for an IoT device and I'm wondering what setting disables this message?

This message popped up on a release of our software which hadn't applied a policies.json file yet, is it safe to assume it will be covered by the following policy which we have on a later release?

After updating my openSUSE Firefox package from version 122 to 123 every frame inside each window started to have weird grey overlay of scrollable area. I failed to find any description of such a thing happening, let alone how to get rid of it. I tried removing build-in distro-default preferences and had complete audit of all my custom preferences in about:config but none changed that behavior. I even updated to 124b4 but this also haven't changed anything. Naturally, nuking entire profile is not an option, I might as well replace the whole browser. So, how do I get rid of this thing?

On certain websites I notices I have 'unknown errors' when trying to log in.

Usually this is remedied by either using Chrome or clearing cookies and the cache.

Both of there are inconvenient and result in a great deal of wasted time.

The usual response by these websites is "get Mozilla to fix this".

I'm getting sick of this.

I don't want to switch to Chrome but I will have to if this persists.

after last update of ff, the yt videos are paused. when press a start button or a space bar the video playing for a fraction of second and stops again. if holding a space bar longer the video is chopped is start - stop pieces. my system manjaro linux ( Linux 5.15.78-1-MANJARO (x86_64) ). ff version 107.0 (64-bit) thanks in advance Lukas

I was using Firefox on windows 10 laptop, everything was synced with my account. Now after switching to Ubuntu I can't see my bookmarks, Just an empty toolbar. Now I don't have access to my old laptop, I sold it.

Any help?

I've got FF set for https-only. But sometimes it will tell me no https is available but when I go to the site anyway it is https.

Is this a bug or is this something in my settings?

So this issue just started and it's really annoying.

In order to actually see the downloads, I first have to enable the menu bar and then go Tools -> Downloads

Clicking the ↓ button should open a panel of recent downloads but nothing appears when I click on it. Furthermore, the "download complete" notification that this panel provides are no longer present.

The animation for the panel still works though.

Is there a solution to this?

i have a problem with Rightmove.co.uk webpages. On the webpage where you can see house plans, I zoom into the plan, and the plan just cannot be moved anymore and zoomed as well. I entered Firefox in troubleshooting mode without any extensions enabled and the same issue happened still. I tested the Brave and Chrome, no problems there. I tested Firefox latest version and also the ESR version, both had the same issue. On Firefox 124.0.2 (on Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS), when I click a download link on a web page, Firefox doesn't download the file. I tried disabling all add-ons, but that did nothing. However, I found that when I deselect "Ask you where to save the files" in the browser's Settings and then click the link, it downloads the file to my Downloads folder. Can someone please point me in the right direction to find a solution for this?

This appears to be confined to FX. (FX 110.0.1 (64-bit) on Linux) Elements like input or output are hidden if id the ID is set as "adv". What is going on - is this a gotcha? Easy workaround of course but that's not the point.

Hello! My Firefox version is 91.11.0esr Several months ago Firefox starts behave this way. It's much more convenient when speaker button always appears on tab. It's absolutely incomprehensible why developers did it with Firefox. Who likes to waste time searching for noisy tab. I wish it work like before.

It used to be possible to set the colour of a container to black, although I can't remember how I did it: I think it was somewhere reachable from the preferences page. Facebook container still sets its colour to black on installation, so the black colour is still there, but I can't set black colour for a container in the Manage Containers dropdown.

I'm running version 8.1.2 on 115.3.1esr (64-bit) for openSUSE Leap 15.5 (and it would be much easier if I could copy this information from the Help-<About page). </p>
