Hi there, like it says. My firefox crashes immediately upon trying to play a video. Even simply scrolling over a video on youtube or google results, it breaks when it tries to the preview. This is the same on Twitter, Facebook, Campus Moodle, etc. Every website I use.
I've had this problem before and I did fix it by totalling wiping my history and browsing cache. Doing that and having to sign back into everything is super tedious though and I don't want it to keep happening. This doesn't happen when I use firefox's troubleshooting mode, everything works as normal and videos play without the browser crashing. So I think it must be something specific to my browsing history somehow? But I've no idea how that could crash the browser just from trying to play a video.

I turned on my computer like any other normal day this morning, except when I launched firefox it was like it was freshly installed, all my passwords, usernames, cookies, saved bookmarks, work related history material is all GONE it's like I just installed firefox for the first time. A lot of these passwords I dont know off the top of my head so I'm going to have to ask my business partners for ALL the passwords... Why did firefox do this? What is the problem??

The Firefox prefs.js file was quarantined by avast yesterday. Message indicated malware had infected the file. Now when I click on the Firefox icon the MSN browser comes up. How can I get back to using Firefox safely? Can I uninstall Firefox, then re-install it to make the problem go away?
When I click on a saved site that I normally use everyday, it tries to load but it just goes back and forth with and Xloading in the top box and never loads.

I did the FF "refresh" and that seems (so far) to have fixed the problem, but it wiped my settings :( any suggestions or thoughts appreciate..thx Matt

This morning, my computer (Windows 10) had some sort of update that caused it to restart. Upon restart, neither BitDefender nor Firefox would open without crashing. I reinstalled both programs to see if that helped, but it did no good. I then completely uninstalled BitDefender, but Firefox still wouldn't open. I can't even open it in Safe Mode. They're the only programs that seem to be affected. I tried to find out what exactly updated so I could roll it back, but I can't find record of anything. I've had similar problems with other website dialogs, but usually the link is just ignored. For example rockler.com, when attempting to place an order - nothing happens. In both cases, switching to MS Edge works correctly.

After Ctrl + S, hundreds save dialog shows up and stack together. You can see the shadow effect on the edge of the dialog box is darkened due to stacking of the dialog boxes. CPU usage will jump to 110%.
