I reinstalled Firefox and made sure that I had unticked the data and history boxes, and declined the search suggestions. Nevertheless, the first attempt at entering a search immediately called up millions of the things. At Chrome, I have learned a sequence of eight clicks, whereby I can, for just that one search, avoid those hideous suggestions. If I could have a no-click option at Firefox, I would stay here. Otherwise, can you tell me how to uninst... no, I can first have another look in Windows settings. Looked through the C drive, but I recall now there is an "uninstall programs" facility in Windows. So, if you are able to tell me how to switch off the suggestions, I will stay at Fireofox. If not, I won't. I can remember a Google (or Chrome) person talking on TV, about 15 yrs ago, about this new thing they had (search suggestions) that everyone would love. Four or five seconds into his talk, I knew that I hated it, and have never moved a millimeter away from that position.

I recently logged into my laptop, which has lubuntu installed on it, for the first time in some time. I had forgotten the primary password that I set in firefox on that machine. I was confused about this and reset my Firefox account password with my recovery key. Now the primary password on my main desktop machine has changed and I am unable to use the password manager. I am afraid of losing all my saved logins and passwords. I tried resetting the primary password on the lubuntu laptop but the method in the help article did not work.

How is it possible that the primary password changed on my desktop machine? Please help, I do not want to lose all my password as I do not remember them all and some of them were automatically generated by firefox.

Starting today, with firefox 102 (on Ubuntu 20.04), I cannot open a url using the address bar. If I enter a url and then hit Enter, it brings up my selected search engine looking for that url, not opening the url itself. This has not happened before today. Is there a way to use the address bar only for opening addresses, and use the search bar for searching?

I cannot currently access https://thesaker.is/ as they are under DOS attack. When I try to access the HTTP sight, firefox is automatically changing what I type, adds the S, and then it cannot connect. Please make it stop "protecting" me. I recall recently discovering an option that allowed me to designate websites that I no longer wanted to see in my search results. I thought this was x-useful as it seems there are a few websites that frequently appeared near the top of the search results that were "come-ons"; that is when you click on the link in the search results, they only offered an option to "sign up" for access. I don't want to see this junk, and I did add one website to the list.

I've got another one I want to add, but I can't find the interface to add this website to the list. I thought it was a DuckDuckGo feature, but I don't see it anywhere! Is this a Firefox feature ? ... or have I lost my mind  :P

Hello i've been having some problems on the latest software of yours i'm most of the time watching livestreams but from update v.100 of your software it became weird tab suspends after some in activity which is a problem for me

i found a solution through ABOUT:CONFIG and disabled these 3 for videos 1 - media.suspend-bkgnd-video.enabled 2 - media.resume-bkgnd-video-on-tabhover 3 - browser.tabs.unloadOnLowMemory

for videos and live streams it was good it didn't suspend but my problem now since update v.102 is that video plays but the CHAT stops and doesn't reload until i reopen firefox to the front of my programs

although it is runnning in the background and NOT MINIMIZED

even when the live stream has some lags and re-buffer it doesn't rebuffer or refresh the page to reconnect to the live stream until i force my firefox in front of my programs or games and again it was not minimized

if there is an option in the about:config to change this please tell me i'm already losing my mind as i missed one of my friends live stream because of that suspension

I use a desktop link for Face book, "https://www.facebook.com/?sk=h_chr".

Tab opens but and I can see on the Status that it is accessing some things. Status line goes blank and stops displaying status. Page remains blank.

If I RELOAD the page at that time, it opens?

I've tried a lot of things and it doesn't seem to help:

• Clear Cache
• 'Safe mode'
• Update FF
• Etc.

Oddly enough, after it does open, and I close FF, if I re-open FF in a reasonable time, it does load the first time.

It doesn't only happen at FF though. Another site has a similar problem. TP-Link site (I have access to a special one that doesn't open at all until I access the Public one).

All this seemed to happen I recall when I had a Lock-up of my PC. So I suspect a corrupted file. Other MS browser works fine though? Suspect some corrupted Profile file maybe?

Suggestions?

So the Reddit website seems to load, but ends up with a big old blank white page. I've cleared my cache, I've cleared my DNS cache. I've pressed ctrl + f5, I've rebooted the computer. Nothing seems to be aloowing mt to open reddit. Please advise.

In Firefox setting i have selected the startup option Open previous windows and tabs in startup. Still, when i Exit Firefox it asks if i wan to close the tabs. I suppose it shouldn't? After closing and restart Firefox doesn't restore previous session as it should. Whats wrong with this setting?

Since I installed Firefox's latest update today Reddit (so far no other sites I frequent have the same issue) displays nothing but an empty white page. You can see the tab load, and the name of the site show up there, but nothing ever displays, not a flicker of color or anything. I've cleared cookies and site data, I've turned the tracking protections off and on, so far nothing I've tried has had any effect. I visited Reddit on another browser and it works fine, so it's clearly a Firefox issue.

I have edited my Settings so that I do not receive emails for any Watchings, but it has been 3 days I think, and I am still receiving forum threads. I just now removed the DownThemAll Watchings thinking this is what I needed to do until I am ready to get back into the issue. How do I stop receiving forum threads unrelated to DownThemAll? I had set up a userContent.css file in the past to pull up and fetch an image on my computer to display as a background on the homepage. It worked and did it's job until recently, when I had recently relocated a lot of my files around on my computer. I have redirected everything to where I want it to look, including the userContent.css file to the new location for the image I want as the background. Firefox loads the .css file correctly, and recognizes the file existing, but it won't load the image itself for some odd reason. It states it "may not load or link the file" because of a security error, and thus, can't load the image. I never had to deal with this before. How can I get Firefox to be able to load my image like I want it to? I have screenshots that I can provide, but this site doesn't want to upload them at the moment.

I have a problem. I had two windows with aprox 30 really important tabs each open at all times. Somehow firefox closed those two windows when I opened a third window (I don't know why and it doesn't matter tbh) and I didn't notice. I opened other temp windows and because of that the previous two with the important tabs were deleted from the chronic.

Is there any way at all to restore those two?

In my sessionstore-backups directory there are six files. previous.jsonlz4, recovery.baklz4 and recovery.jsonlz4. The other two are upgrade.jsonlz4 with a date at the end. The last one is from 20220630. Could this possibly be some older backup from my chronic with my old two windows? If so, is there a way to restore those? Just renaming them didn't seem to work...

Just (~20 minutes ago) updated 102.0.1 (64 bit) and now there are white bars across the bottom of each firefox window (see screenshots) except for support.mozilla.org or mozilla.org addresses. Any idea what is going on and/or how to fix it?

I use Firefox as my primary browser, and Comodo IceDragon as a back-up browser. For about the past week my Hotmail account, accessed through Outlook Live website, does not load it just brings up a white screen. I deleted all my temp files, and anything else I could think of that may be preventing it, but that did not work. In fact after doing this I have not been able to access my USAA account, it takes me to the log in screen and once I put in my user name it just keeps asking for the user name, it does not go any further. The pages are loading correctly with the Comodo IceDragon browser which I believe is very similar to Firefox.

I would very much like to get this issue resolved. I hope to get a response soon.

I have tried every troubleshooting from the other answers available on the support website but whenever I am trying to login, it shows a black screen and I also unregistered Twitter from about:serviceworkers but still nothing, I also cannot upload the screenshot here it just says uploading and nothing else. Images are not uploading even from other devices.

Update: this issue was because of a filter from uBlock's list. Fixed now. I am not sure how to close my question.

Adblocker stopped working on my Macbook macOS version 12.4 Monterey with this latest Firefox update. It says it is turned on, but pop-up ads AND content blocking are occurring on https://www.wunderground.com/weather.

I recently closed and re-opened Firefox to refresh it. Now, when I download an attachment from Gmail, a pop up appears next to my downloads icon. How do I turn that off?

Hello. For the past few days, I am unable to access the content of some websites. For example, Reddit seem to load but the page remains blank. This happens on other websites, where I am unable to login although the page displays correctly (an error message appears on one of them: "Please check the consistency of your URL").

This is quite annoying, especially because I cannot find anything related on the web. I use Firefox on POP OS 22.04.
