It turns out the copied logins-backupjson file i had pasted on my desktop screen was already overwritten by an added or removed login, thus writing over when it did have the saved login removed that i was trying to recover

is there any other way to recover the removed login?

If you still have the signons.sqlite that was used in a previous Firefox version then you can try to restore passwords saved in that file.

Firefox 32 and later builds store the passwords in the logins.json file in the profile folder and no longer use the signons.sqlite file that has been used before (the matching key3.db file is still needed). If you still have the signons.sqlite file used in previous Firefox versions then you can try to force Firefox to migrate the passwords saved in that file (you will lose passwords saved in Firefox 32+ versions). You can force Firefox to reimport the passwords from the signons.sqlite file and rebuild the logins.json file with these steps:

   reset the signon.importedFromSqlite pref on the about:config page to the default value via the right-click context menu
   delete the logins.json file in the Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed 

When you restart Firefox then you should have the signon.importedFromSqlite pref with the value set to true and you should have the passwords imported in the Password Manager unless there may have been errors.

So I downloaded Firefox and logged in expecting my bookmarks to carry over after I "sync'd" it, however the did not. So I went to my old pc and did the export bookmarks thing and imported it to the new pc.

Now.. I have all my bookmarks and everything appears great. Except whenever I open a link from say my work it opens a Mozilla window that doesn't have my bookmarks. When I try to combine the windows It doesn't let me. I am also scared of losing access to the Mozilla with my bookmarks as I work from home using those. (the desktop shortcut to Mozilla opens the one without all my work)

In the attached screenshot things to note, the bookmark bar available on left isn't there on the right. Additionally in the taskbar (bottom) it shows Mozilla in two distinctly separate icons. When two Mozilla windows are open, they share the same icon on the taskbar, these do not, which leads me to believe I have two incompatible versions existing next to each other.

Please my firefox appears to have crashed, or is not working how can i fix it. As i try to open firefox document a dialogue box appears saying that either the firefox is not designed to run or that i should reinstall firefox

I try to install Firefox on a HP Z1 G8 desktop under Windows 11 Pro. The first time I get a warning that a .dll is not available or so (I dont know what this warning is precisely, becaus it pops up for 2 seconds only ) , and firefox is not well installed, reinstalling goes without warning, but still Firefox starts and then stay dead, no sites, no settings. I know the security in this computer is very thight, but other apps install without problem and functions.

Why Firefox cant be installed where other apps can ??????

Firefox starts but when I type into the search box nothing happens. My RoboForm link does not work and neither do the bookmarks. I have had to resort to using Edge to get onto the internet. Jim Klein

I'm trying to access a video on meethook.live. I did so in 2021 using the Firefox browser, but for some reason, it won't work anymore. The kind people at Meethook.live suggested using Chrome or Safari, but I don't want to use either of those browsers. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to change any settings to make it work. I tried a few security settings, dropping a few protections I had set up, but that hasn't helped. Can you suggest anything?

If I Open normal window (not private) then click menubar/3 bar menu (upper right side) and click 'new private window' and then close normal window, it also closed my private window. v121.00

Saved themes in Firefox color not visible in add-ons manager. Does not fix itself in safe mode. One of the saved themes is a default preset I liked, the other is a preset I made myself, using all options except advanced colors.

After installing Update 123.0.1, History and Bookmarks no longer show up in the search bar even though they're still checked in my Search settings. What could be causing this? Thanks!

My add-on and default profile have disappeared after I entered safe mode. The browser window restarted with a new interface with different settings and all my add-ons were gone. There reason why I tried out safe-mode was to restore my open tabs which were lost after firefox updates but still showing in history without the possibility to restore them. Currently, I have three profiles in about:profiles but non of them contains my add-ons data. They all appeared as if I am opening the browser for the first time. Inside the profiles file explore, there are 5 newly created profiles see attached screenshots.

Things I did, Cleared cache, refreshed the profiles and restart the browser nothing works.

What is going on. :(. This sucks. I had special add-ons which contained my valuable settings and now they are all gone.
