Hey everyone,

I've been encountering a persistent error with Firefox, and I'm hoping someone here might have a solution. Whenever I try to open Firefox, I keep getting an error message that says "Secure Connection Failed" for certain websites. It's really frustrating because it's preventing me from accessing important sites. I've tried clearing my cache and cookies, but the issue persists. Has anyone else experienced this problem, and if so, how did you resolve it?

I'm still using windows professional 7, it works for the most part. Unfortunately often the browser won't load or it will load and runs very slowly, then it shows a box saying close previous firefox. When it is running slowly I often have to hit the browser many times until the box shows up saying close previous firefox. Is this something to do with windows 7 or another completely different issue.

I accidentally deleted my firefox and didnt backup my passwords that were on it., I no longer have the computer that the firefox was on. How can i get all my passwords? I really need them.

Search in Outlook.com/Hotmail.com/Live.com not working. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling firefox. Ran windows update. Seems to work fine on another computer. System: windows 10. Firefox version 123.0.1

FIrefox view I think has a lot of potential. Especially with the release of Ai. It could be a fantastic home page type setup.

Currently though, I would like to use it as a tab manager.

Is there a way to access it via keyboard? If not, can it please receive a keybinding? It seems like a very very small thing to add.

I would like to use my browser in a different way.

This URL below will return a XML file in Edge/chrome but not in Firefox. I use Joomla as a CMS and it's extensions to display a RSS feed worked fine in both browsers until a couple of months ago. I've tried with a vanilla Mozilla/FF with all extensions disabled but still will not return the XML file

Hi, I am using Linux Zorin and have updated to a later OS but cannot reinstall my stored files because, "/home/garry/.mozilla/firefox/0czvkt76.default-release/lock". Which has confused me, I have used a Deja Dup backup which uses Duplicity files as per the Zorin programme. Duplicate files are stored in a WD ext hard drive. What can I do to recover my files pls? The Amazon.co.uk search plugin was working but now its not and when i try to click "add search engine" a box pops up with

another post suggested checking the about:config browser.search.region mine says "GB" which would be correct for .co.uk

All other search plugins work fine. Any suggestions?

When watching videos on YouTube or Amazon Prime, Firefox will eventually stop recognizing keyboard and mouse input in all windows and tabs. This can happen after just a few minutes of video or after hours. It affects nearly all input: typing or clicking in webpages, the toolbar, the address bar, etc., though I can click the 'x' button to close tabs. When I close the final window, a dialogue will appear stating that Firefox is non-responsive and allowing me to kill the process. This seems unusual, because the OS's system monitor indicates there is plenty of unused and available RAM and CPU resources. Firefox behaves normally after restarting.

OS: Xubuntu 22.04 Firefox version: 120.0 (though previous versions have been affected for the last few months)

Hi, I am trying to install an add-on for MetaCert. I receive the following from Firefox: "Check This by MetaCert by MetaCert". This does not help to install the add-on. This is not a problem on my other PC. Look forward to your help/suggestions. Best, Stephen Rodgers

For a while now, several bank credit card sites are not working correctly when I use my Firefox browser. It did in the past and I didn't have any problems but lately I'm having these problems happening on sites I've used for years. If I use another browser it will work with no problem. In fact after talking with some of the support people at some of the sites that won't work, the suggest trying another browser which works fine. I'm talking like American Express' website which I use a lot. There are other sites other than credit cards that are not working correctly and again, their support agent will tell me to use another browser. I have tried different remedies like clearing cache, history, etc. I only use few addons like AdBlock which helps to cut down on trackers and information gathers. I have set my preferences to clear out my history and cookies. I have used Firefox for so many years without problems and with the same addons without any problems. So what is causing this to happen? I do enjoy using Firefox but if I have to keep changing over to another browser so sites will work, then maybe it's time for me to stop using Firefox.

I just want to express my frustration.

Today during removal of Firefox (due to bug in Windows "winget" upgrader I got two versions of FF - 122.0 and 122.0.1 so wanted to remove one) I accidentally clicked "Refresh Firefox instead" without knowing what's going to happen in a few seconds.

Soon I was presented with a nice and clean Firefox window with no open tabs, no history and no addons.

I quickly went to my profile folder (%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles) only to discover that no full backup was made prior to "refreshing". There were some files preserved - places.sqlite, cookies.sqlite, but no addons, and no sessionstore.jsonlz4. From what I can see, some of the carefully tweaked settings in about:config are also lost.

Fortunately I made my own backup on 10th of October 2023, so I recovered most addons and some of the open tabs. I'm now in the process of restoring other tabs from history. But I like to have them open for weeks or even months, so it's going to take me a lot of time.

The Refresh Firefox thing should be removed because it only destroys data. OR MAKE THE DAMN FULL BACKUP OF THE ENTIRE ***UNTOUCHED*** USER PROFILE ***BEFORE*** REFRESHING IT!!!!!!!!!

You never cease to disappoint, Firefox. Now I'll waste a lot of time to restore what I had before clicking that damn button. And I need to set up a regular profile backup because I cannot trust the software I tried to trust the most... No wonder you're losing users. That is totally unacceptable.

Any clues on how to restore my profile to the state before the "refresh" disaster?

Every once in awhile i get a second Firefox icon pinned to my taskbar and also a second listing for firefox in my programs list. If i try and delete the extra version there is only one listed in the control panel. Has anyone else seen this? I am running Windows 10 Pro.

I was using PC and a window popped up saying "allow Firefox to make changes" and I clicked allow! Shortly thereafter my PC froze and I had to power it down. Now Firefox looks completely different and all my bookmarks and links to everything is gone. Also all my saved email logins and information!

I encounter this error only on my.nintendo.com. However nobody else I know encounters this (even using Firefox) and I do not encounter it on Edge browser.

When I open the site it stays for a few seconds, then loads an error page. Then this error page reloads itself every few seconds. I tried to include some Inspect tool details. Before a 404 error there are 303 and 302 responses. I live near my friends who do not have this issue (same ISP too) so it's not a regional issue. In the screenshots the four (and two more further down) red GETs below are all "304 Not Modified" status'd

I'm not sure what type of info I can dump from the browser or how, to help diagnose this. I'm on Windows 11 (though I was having this isue on my dual-booted Linux install too), on version 121.0.1 (see screenshot of About Firefox for more?)

If you see on the attached image, on the far right side is a LastPass red logo (red box, 3 white dots). I have been using this setup for so long I have no idea how it got there. Can you direct me to where that might be in the settings?

I am trying to re-create the setting on another computer.
