Dear all,

how can I tell whether my version of Firefox already has received the shipment of Enhanced Tracking Protection 2.0? Is there any notation somewhere? (I searched for it, but did not find anything, neither in the ETP settings or in the Protections Dashboard, nor in about:config.)

Please advice how to find out. Thank you!

Hello good people, This is rather a request for advice than an issue report. I' ve learned about the facebook container add-on and wanted to know if there is a need for it if someone was making sure to exclusively open facebook.com in its own profile. Say you set up a profile(from about:profiles) namely "BIg Brothers" for notorious trackers like google, facebook , twitter etc so they can perpetually track each other with simple rules to observe like : - Never open an external(shared) link - Never access any other website through that profile.

Is there a particular feature the add-on is bringing up that the native interface is missing ? The other reason is add-ons are great but they tend to bloat the system impeding the browsing experience. I am the kind of guy who opens 7 concurrent tabs each running heavy js code so the lighter the better.

Not sure when this started or why it is happening. I have double checked that my settings have Google search set as my default search engine. Instead, Yahoo Search keeps popping up.

How can I stop this?

I have had to change the Search Engine back multiple multiple times after changing to DuckDuckGo and removing the others!

Why does the system Windows 10, if that is the culprit continue to change it away from DDGo? I removed the Microsoft Edge File from my Computer. It used to be the one that replaced it!

.. Ich habe die aktuelle Firefox 79 Version, wollte mir ein Addon installieren, da kommt die Meldung " für Firefox, downloaden sie Firefox"...

Dies machte Ich mit dem gedanken , das evtl. ein Miniupdate sein könnte, ich installierte die gedownloadete Version Firefox 79. Aber wieder kann ich keine Addons installieren, als hätte ich kein Firefox...??? Bitte um Hilfe, Danke

I did this with the thought that it might be a mini update, I installed the downloaded version Firefox 79. But again, I can't install any addons as if I didn't have Firefox...??? Please help me, thanks

Add-ons in version 79 are not holding their settings.

No script, foxclocks in particular.

Every time I log out & log back in later I have to reset everything.

I don't have time to be resetting the add-ons all the time.

I was using Sync thinking it would be easier but I found it to screw things up worse so I logged out of FF acct..

Is anyone else having issues with add-ons holding their settings in ver. 79.0?

I clicked on refresh and all my addons and logins are gone.

refresh does not sound like a destructive operation

im about to activate the profile again through the backup so its ok for me but you should consider for average people to rename it

I'm very concerned about the recent structural changes at Mozilla as it pertains to FireFox. I left Chrome for Firefox but am considering going back as it appears Mozilla lost the war. If I don't see something announcing the future of Firefox in the next month, I'm dropping it due to security risk.

Is there a statement on it's future? All I saw was the CEO saying they were abandoning all things not commercially focused.

I hope someone can help me figure this out. I am not able to see Ebay the way it normally displays. It is only words down the left side of the page and not proper format(pictures/ layout). I have Windows10.. It works fine on the Edge browser but I prefer Mozilla. I don't know how to insert a picture here to show you. Print screen didn't work when I tried to do that. I have cleared the cache and cookies, I have rebooted also with no change. Help!!! Thank you in advance.

When I do a search in Firefox, about half of the choices are in German. I only want English results. I think my browser thinks I'm in Europe. How do I change this?

Many many many months ago I had a problem with a Firefox update. Sent my question in and got a fix in response from support. It worked great and I closed out the question as solved. Right now which has been many many months since then, I'm receiving a lot of emails. Just today 12 emails from your support team bmbguy and jscher2000 in reference to the problem that was fixed a long time ago. I keep trying to close it out by clicking problem solved but I still keep getting many emails from them. I would like to have the emails stopped or remove me from their mailing list. I have a weird bug that is preventing me from using Facebook with version 79. When I write in Facebook Messenger, words just get repositioned in the message window. So for example if I want to write Facebook has a strange bug with Messenger what will show in the message line (and get sent upon entering) is k ange h MessFacebooha s a strbug wit enger

It doesn't happen with any other browser - I tested Brave, Vivaldi, & Opera. I kept the same # of other windows & tabs open. I have 8 gig RAM, no sign of maxing out from the Task Manager metrics.
