Recently any search I do via Firefox tab is automatically taken over by Yahoo and I'm not aware I ever sanctioned this and I don't want this to happen as normally Google was doing the searches. Thank you

In new version i can switch between search engines, but it makes me to many clicks. In old version, i just clicked icons in bottom and it become search in this engine. How to bak to the old version?

Google seems to be slowing down my PC. So I deleted google and installed Mozilla. I set Mozilla as my default browser but google is still there. How do I get rid of google?

Perhaps set the previous iteration of the search bar as an option in the settings. Not having easy access to all my search engines at once, and having to spend those extra seconds to click on the search icon, select the one I want to use in the new list layout, wastes precious time. This is a real boon to my productivity and would love a return.

I tried to use Firefox as my search engine but that didn't work so I re-downloaded DuckDuck, but the address bar say "search with google". I use to have DuckDuck but deleted it because I got tired of sites wanting to know my location. How do I get rid of that. I've tried all options in the settings file. I would prefer

I set my search engine as DuckDuckgo for privacy some time ago. I deleted Bing and others from the list of browsers as well. I made some effort to set up Firefox and my computer in general as privately oriented as possible without breaking things. I come on Firefox today and see Google has been set as me default search engine again, the other search engines are back in my list and Duckduckgo sitting on the back bench. I seem to be in the battle with Windows as well. I shut off unnecessary data transfer like customer satisfaction BS and they return like a bad rash. I am no tech whiz but I put a lot of work into my privacy only to have it reversed. What do I do?

perhaps if you just had a few empty boxes so someone could write in the name of the search engine and firefox would know the complex URL's connected to the name of the search engine.............

I need to stop google from automatically searching in the address bar so I can use about.config.

No help has worked from the web. Commands suggested by users don't exist or they use circular logic. In other words I can't go to about.config and make changes because I can't get to about.config because google searches it. I have turned off everything and nothing gets rid of the google search. I can go to other searches but that doesn't help.

Over the years I've added dozens of additional search engines; periodically I've "archived" lesser used search engines by toggling their visibility (to reduce clutter and speed up my search process), and when an "archived" engine becomes relevant to me again I've simply toggled the engine back to a visible state. However, as of version 152, this functionality appears to have been removed for user-added search engines. Is there a way to restore this functionality?

I've searched here and elsewhere on the web for a workaround, and perused the about:config variables, but have not been able to find anything. The show/hide functionality is still present for builtin search engines, so it seems like there must be some way to restore it for all search engines.

I need to fix my issue with search, not sure if it is because of VPN or smth. I use Browsec as VPN, just recognized Firefox has its own VPN. Did anyone had same issue? I saw there was an update on July 1, 2026, Until yesterday everything worked fine.

Why I can select a custom page for when a new window opens but NOT when I open a new tab? I am tired of using your search bar because it is defaulting to the country I am in rather than only giving me results using Google USA. This is causing the results to be in a language I am not interested in using. I do not want results using the local Google, I ONLY want results from Google USA regardless of where I am at in the world. Please allow us to select a custom url for the search bar as well as a set url for every time we open a tab (not just a window).
