When viewing email on Outlook in Firefox, there now appears a rectangular black box over part of every email. This does not occur when viewing Outlook emails on Chrome or Edge. I thought it might be because of my adblocker (Ublock Origin) so I turned it off, but the black rectangle still covers part of my messages (and I have Ublock on Chrome, too, with no problem viewing Outlook).

The rectangle covers only a portion of the messages. When I scroll the message, the black rectangle remains stationary and the message scrolls behind it, thus revealing the portion previously covered by the black rectangle (a different portion of the message becomes covered).

I tried to take a screenshot to show the black rectangle covering part of the message. Amazingly, even though the black rectangle is there when I take the screenshot, the screenshot itself does not display the black rectangle....instead the message appears in the screenshot without being partially covered by the black rectangle.

I contacted the Daily Mail newspaper because I keep getting their popup news alert messages even when I am reading my email. My Firefox popup blocker is checked. I complained to the news paper and they gave the following message to get rid of these annoying messages. Here are their instructions to stop this on Firefox> 1. Click the Settings icon in the top right of your browser window and choose "Preferences" 2.From the left hand side of the page, choose "Content" 3. Under Notifications, press "Choose

There is no Preferences category under my settings icon. There is no Content on the left side of the page when I go to Settings There is no Notifications label from which to select Choose.

How the heck do I get rid of this annoying popup or notification or whatever the heck it is? Please advise. Thx

FF updated yesterday with the new Ubuntu 22.04 (Pop) update to 99.01. Since the update the volume control inputs are essentially disabled on all web sites, and they default to max - even when muted.

Example - youtube - all videos play full volume Reddit - even muted videos play full volume

The volume can now only be controlled by the system slider.

The same behavior does not occur in other browsers - e.g. Chromium, Opera, etc.

Can anyone assist?

For some reason, when I go to Amazon.com on my Firefox browser it is now coming up in Spanish. This is the only website where this is happening. I have rebooted my computer, but that doesn't solve the problem. Also, if I go to Amazon.com on Google Chrome, it comes up in English. Is there a way that I can solve this problem?

I have been unsuccessful in finding a solution in searches, so posting here. On one website I use, a machining forum, when I want to reply to a post, I have no text edit options ie bold, italic, emojis, etc. They are there, but grayed. They have worked previously for me. I don't know what changed like a setting on my part or an upgrade. I currently run Firefox version 99.01. I asked on the forum and other users have the same version and no problems. I can access the page with Chrome and on my phone (Android) and no problem so it is not my account. And on other forums, I ie different websites, I can use those functions. I have removed history cache and cookies, restarted Firefox and restarted the laptop.

Any suggestions?

''Reference#18.d793517.1649002062.289635e4 This doesn't make sense - this is a site I go to frequently & don't understand why I continue to have problems - I followed some suggested fixes yesterday & it seemed to work again until this morning. I also got a message when I tried to access Amazon that indicated the connection was not secure. mazdausa.com won't fully display. I just updated to version 100 (woohoo) and tried looking in troubleshooting mode, still no luck. The middle of the page where the car (picture) is supposed to show up is blank. The rest of the site loads.

The explanation is as follows: Someone could be trying to impersonate the site and you should not continue. Web sites prove their identity via certificates. No problems whatever with other browsers. I'm sending this with Safari.

On certain websites I notices I have 'unknown errors' when trying to log in.

Usually this is remedied by either using Chrome or clearing cookies and the cache.

Both of there are inconvenient and result in a great deal of wasted time.

The usual response by these websites is "get Mozilla to fix this".

I'm getting sick of this.

I don't want to switch to Chrome but I will have to if this persists.

Google Maps > Search > Share > Embed a Map, the map to be embedded is not displayed (likewise when embed is pasted into Wordpress page, for example)

While same procedure in Safari or Brave works as expected (map to be embedded is displayed in Google maps and embed code displays map in webpage using Brave or Safari).

From the Google Maps page > share > Embed a map > right click This Frame > Open in new tab And then looking in the Console. There are a few other ignored errors but then this...

I got a notification that Yandex is no longer supported and my default search engine was changed to Google?

Why does Firefox care of which search engine I use? Why I can't use Yandex? I tried to add it again but it requires to install an addon for search engines and there's no addon for Yandex search.

Let me start with two points: (a) this is the first time that I've used this site, so if I do anything wrong please just tell me and I won't do it again, and, (b) I'm no technician (I deliberately use Firefox because I believe in Mozilla's business principles, not because I think Firefox is technically superior to other browsers - although I'm quite prepared to believe that it is) but I can follow instructions. I am using the latest version of Firefox [98.0.2 (64-bit)] on a bog standard Dell laptop under Windows 10 [Edition Windows 10 Home, Version 21H2, OS build 19044.1620, Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.4170.0].

I have recently opened an HSBC bank account. If I try to access their UK online banking site (https://www.hsbc.co.uk/) using Firefox (which I should very much prefer to do than with any other browser), it is missing the most important feature of 'Chat' (the only sensible way of talking to HSBC without having to endure a half-hour wait). However, if I access it using any other browser (e.g., Microsoft Edge) the 'Chat' facility is available in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. Please note that with Firefox I am using a 'container' (called HSBC) - I don't think that Edge has similar facilities.

Can anybody please tell me whether I might have some setting or other (e.g., say something to do with 'pop-ups' which I think that the HSBC's 'Chat' facility uses) set incorrectly?

Yesterday I started having trouble logging into Gmail and associated apps (calendar, contacts, docs, sheets, shared folders, etc., as well as google.com) in Firefox. All other sites are loading with no problems. Google apps are working fine in Chrome. Still having problems today.

My office uses Google Workplace for everything so this is really messing me up, I've lost several hours of work trying to get things to load. The IT person told me that if Firefox is having problems I should use Chrome instead. I hate Chrome! I want to use Firefox, but I can't get my work done if it won't load Google apps.

After each fix things start working for a while but then everything Gmail-related freezes or crashes and I need to start all over again. Help!!!

More and more I'm having to go to other browsers like Chrome or Edge to open certain websites as they do not work through the Firefox browser. Why is this and how can i get them to work before i change browsers permanently?
