Hello everybody!

I just updated my firefox to the newest version - and I absolutely hate the new design. Is there any way to "keep" the newest version, but have the older design?

I know that installing the version before the design got updated would be a possibility, but for various reasons I would like to avoid doing that - at least if there is any other option. If not, I'll just have to do that I guess.

Help would be very much appreciated!

How do I check if hardware acceleration is turned on whilst under recommended performance settings? Remember that I want to keep the checkbox ticked. Is there something I should be searching for on Troubleshooting Information or about:support ?

For years I've had multiple open tabs and pinned tabs while browsing, then when I quit and restarted FF all of the tabs reopened when I restarted.

I've recently upgraded to a newer MacBook Pro and now FF is not reopening tabs upon restart. I also didn't need to login to FF each time I started it on my old computer, but FF on the new computer makes me login every time I restart. I'm using version 88.0.1 on the new computer and 88.0 on the previous computer. I have followed the instructions from the article below, and I've even uninstalled and reinstalled FF, but nothing has worked:

I seem to remember that, prior to Firefox 89, there was a customize touch bar button in the menu, under Firefox. After updating to Firefox 89, I can't find the button anymore. I looked in the menu and in settings. I tried looking online.

Is it possible to set up Firefox so that during the night it uses a dark theme and during the day a light one? I haven't been able to find any dynamic theme setups

Am I the only one plagued with an issue about the option "View" > "Toolbars" > "Bookmarks Toolbar" > "Only Show on new Tab" ?

It finally used to work until version 88

(prior to that I had to use custom css tricks)

With 89, it does not work anymore

Hello Guys, So yesterday I got the color selection thing popping up on my screen and I accidentaly selected white mode but I wanted dark mode. And now I don't know how to get back the color selection, because can't find it anywhere. Anyone know where I can change my color again?

I just downloaded and installed the latest update for Firefox and I hate it. The browser top bar is white and none of the tabs is readily readable. I looked to find a way to darken the background, but nothing changes that white bar. Please like Windows allow a "classic" setting that retains the older look.

The 89.0 update is great, but I'm disappointed by the new homepage (see the picture). The font is too small, and if I scale the page, the lower row doesn't fit to the screen. A good option would be to remove the useless huge Firefox logo in the middle of the page and to shift the search bar up. Then I could just scale the page. Is there a way to do it?

Changing fonts on every page is not a satisfying solution, I only want to fix the homepage.

Firefox just released an update changing the browser's look, and it clashes hard with my computer's theme. I wanted to ask if anyone could help me restoring firefox's previous version/removing this update, or at least blocking the aesthetic changes forced by the update. Thanks for any and all help.

Although my Firefox browser is set to english, the URL preview in the bottom left corner is set to German. For example it will say "Warten" instead of "Waiting for" etc. I can't find a way to change this. Does anyone know the solution to this?

Started Firefox this morning and my tabs are missing. How can I return them so that they are under the toolbar? Also, WHY do they continue to do this insane crap?

I opened FireFox and it updated to 89.0 That's fine and all but it changed the default color scheme (They are themes now?) Well it's horrific to Me. I'm older and all the new "default" themes I can't see well and/or make My eyes hurt resulting in a headache. I just want it to look the way it did before the update without sorting through bunches of themes looking for one that is close.

Why would they do that in the first place? I mean themes are great for people that like that sort of thing but why not allow people to chose to change, rather than force a change and offer no option to just keep it the way it was? I mean it's a color palette not a security hole. Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, if this is the wrong place to ask this feel free to put it where it belongs.

tried applying any standard theme available and currently using my own custom, any visual mode like normal/compact and still this gap is present

Updated to v89 this morning. I really really dislike the theme options. Is there a way to use the previous default theme. The new ones are all difficult to read. Quite frankly, I hate the color schemes available. They decrease the visibility of text.

As of yesterday, June 1, my theme changed in Firefox. It's too light and the dark one is too dark. Can I have the original one back? I've played around with different themes and I don't care for any of the fancy colored ones. I just want the top bar to be a darker gray like it was 2 days ago. I cannot distinguish from the top bar and the tabs now. It all blends as one color. Thank you. Barbara

Since upgrading to FF89 (the new Proton UI) I've noticed a change in behavior when I try to perform a web search from a New Tab. When I try to type a search string in the Google search bar on a New Tab, any character I type immediately appears in the address bar (see attached image) and search suggestions are shown in a drop down under the address bar.

With FF88 (the old Photon UI) I could type my entire search string into the Google search bar and then hit "Enter" to start the search.

Is this a bug in the way that searches are performed from a New Tab in the Proton UI or a deliberate design change? Is there some setting I can change to stop the Proton UI from running my searches from the address bar when I search from a New Tab?

An image of my New Windows and Tabs settings is also attached, and my default search engine at Settings | Search | Search | Default Search Engine is set to Google. Note that I live in Canada and the custom URL for my Home Page is set to Google Canada (https://www.google.ca/), but any searches that runs from the address bar defaults to Google.com (e.g., https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=<search string>).
