I just upgraded to Firefox 87.0 (64-bit) for Windows 7. After the upgrade the wheel click to open a link in a new tab isn't working. In fact, doing a wheel click does absolutely nothing now. I have relied HEAVILY on using wheel clicks to open links in new tabs. In fact, depending on what I am doing I am more likely to open a link in a new tab than to just follow it, as it is easier to close a tab then hit a back button 4, 10, or 20 times to get back to where I started.

I have verified the following options in about:config; browser.tabs.opentabfor.middleclick=true middlemouse.contentLoadURL=false middlemouse.paste=false middlemouse.scrollbarPosition=false

When searching to see if others were having this problem I noticed a user from 3 years ago had this problem in the Linux version, and that they had listed an option for middlemouse.openNewWindow=true. This option is now missing from about:config. I have no idea if it was in the previous version of Firefox or not, or if it being missing is the source of my problem or not. I have restarted Firefox itself a couple of times, as well as rebooting my computer, the problem is still there.

At this point I am already highly tempted to attempt to return to the previous version of Firefox just to get this one feature back, simply because of how regularly I rely upon it. The only reasons why I'm not at present is to ask for help fixing this problem and that I probably won't have the time around work to fight with it for several days.

fire fox tabs not opening. Unfortunately there is a You tube video playing and I can not access it turn it off. the sound interferes with any other video that is played can any one help me with this

also  I have a presentation via zoom and the video will be playing in the back ground. it will be noisy

Hi all! I want ask Mozilla team.Can you please back option " Open image " and save new option " Open image in new tab " ? Please I realy need this ! I working with image services like " Image Twist " and now I must open new tab with image and to close previous tab. But in same time new option " Open image in new tab " cool and not useless.So I hope Im not alone and Mozilla team will hear me/us and fix this ! browser.tabs.loadinbackground is set to true already. Non-image links usually open in background tabs. I tried setting browser.tabs.loadDivertedInBackground to true but it didn't resolve the issue for me. (I've since set it back to the default false).

Since I have Big Sur, all tabs from the last session reopen every time I open Firefox although I disabled that in the preferences, deleted the history and the cookies, deinstalled and resinstalled Firfox and restarted the Mac (iOS Big Sur). Nothing helped.

Hello, I had just recieved the new redesign of Firefox on my system and so far I am loving every bit of it.

However, I am a person that frequently opens many, MANY tabs and likes to keep them organized by draging them around on the tab bar. Since the new redesign I can no longer move my tabs around or open new windows by detaching tabs. Is this on purpose and supposed to have been a "feature" with the redesign? I have tried reinstalling firefox as well without success in fixing the issue.

Would love to just go back to my old browser look, but if not, is there a way to: 1) Not have the "floating" tabs? In other words, have the tab outlines clearly showing? 2) I find it very annoying to see the "PLAYING" constantly popping-up in my tab when playing solitaire. Is there a way to disable that?

On 6-2-2021 the Firefox /browser was automatically updated (errgh!). Now, my tabs are all gone and the History is empty. They were not merely recreational or random. Please help. Thank you in advance!

I think this happens routinely. Can the Mozilla people prevent the problem in the first place? How can I tell the angst they cause their users? I see others begging for help with this problem.

I don't know if I'm the only one who used this feature, but when I opened a new tab I could just drop some copied text in there, go to another tab do something, then go back to that new tab where the text was copied, take the copy once more from the bar and go back to the previous tab. The text in the new tab didn't disappear all the time when new tab was "opened". Currently in version 89.0 this functionality disappeared and when I change from new tab to other tab text from the "search bar" disappear, the funniest thing is this functionality saved me a lot of time because I didn't have to play with any notepad or anything to store copied things. Is there any option to bring it back?

I've searched without luck long enough, time to ask You. Is there a way for Firefox 89+ to restore tabs to be below adress bar? Previous userChrome.css solutions puts tabs now on bottom of screen and makes them invisible. Common problem wich Mozilla stuff is blind at...

so this new update... removed the 'PIN TAB' option in the search bar??? it's completely gone now, not in settings either. that was a VERY used option for MANY people.... so where is it now?

This latest update is horrible. I hate everything about the new tool/browser bar. How do I undo this abomination and reset it to the settings I had yesterday? Who thought this was a good idea? It's shit!

Hi, I use a PC under W7.

with FF88, the zone of the activated/unused tabs was above the screen, below the listed tabs bar (like in the snapshot).

With FF89, this zone is now empty (background in blue in the snapshot) and only the active tab appears below the window (on the right down in the snapshot for the current tab).

It makes FF simply unusable ! Need your help to come back to a normal situation : all tabs in the blue bar where they were.

Hello, I would like to use the search function in the tab again. How can I adjust this? At the moment it is so that when you enter it it appears right above in the link line (see picture). I would like it to be in the search below, directly in the tab. Before version 88 this was possible. Why was it removed?

hallo, ich möchte wieder im Tab die Suchfunktion nutzen. Wie kann ich dies einstellen? Zur Zeit ist es so, daß bei einer Eingabe es gleich oben in der Linkzeile erscheint (siehe Bild) Dabei möchte ich es unten in der Suche, direkt im Tab haben. Vor Version 88 war das möglich. Warum wurde es entfernt?

In version 89 running on windows there is no "options" setting in the three bar file. Previously I had things running so that if I opened a new window it came up with my chossen browser (Startpage). Now if I do that it opens a new tab instead of a window and does so in Firefox. So then I try to find "options" but its not there. So I go to settings and it offers me an option to open in tabs instead of new windows. Implication is that the default is a new window. SO I make sure thats not ticked and I close firefox and reopen it. No difference. Then I come at it the other way ie to tell the tab to despay my home page but it wont let me do that either. Choices there are only a blank page or (yes you guessed it) Firefox. All help gratefully recieved.
