No other browser or software is behaving as Firefox regarding playing a tone if I select a menu pull down or Right click on a tab etc.

The answers regarding Sounds from the internet do not correct this as I've already disabled Windows tones. This is specfic to Firefox only. I've tried shutting off extensions and restarting the browser in safe mode or troubleshoot mode. The browser still plays tones with mouse clicks. If I silence Mozilla with my windows area then I can't listen to video audio such as youtube. Toggling audio off and on is annyoing and was never necessary before. This is must be a software issue within the browser.

Why the tones have suddenly begun when they never have before is a mystery. I don't get tones anywhere else.

I can't believe Firefox doesn't have a simple toggle within it's own software. It needs one now.

There seems to be no possible way to change the shortcut for peeking at the tabs in the sidebar (when sidebar revamp is enabled) from the about:keyboard UI. I have so far managed to modify the shortcut through intercepting function calls.

What I have done: 1. Read through the JS source code for about:keyboard which says the shortcut ID is `toggleSidebarKb` 2. Added hooks to intercept `RPMSendQuery` calls 3. Modified the shortcut through devtools open on the about:keyboard page with the following snippet

The way I am doing it is definitely a hack. I am not sure if I am missing something. Although the shortcuts for bookmarks, history, and GenAI chat sidebar are present, there seems to be no entry to change the sidebar toggle shortcut itself. I'd love to work on this but I haven't been able to mach bootstrap on NixOS.

How can i change bookmarks menu so it will close after choosing. Ive searched and only found option to stay open, (Option to not close menu when opening new tab)... Not what im wanting, I want to open bookmarks choose and have it auto close the side bar of bookmarks. Maybe even auto closing the link folders opened. Windows 11.

Anytime I open Firefox that pop-up shows, I don't want F-fox opening every time I start PC but there's no option to get it to go away otherwise, or at least that I can see.

I am only able to shut off these new tones Firefox makes in Windows 11 Volume control center by muting Firefox. Then if I do, I am forced to return to that button to unmute if I want to listen to a YouTube video etc.

I've never had this issue with Firefox until 2026. I'd like to find a setting within the Firefox Settings, but there is nothing. No other browser does this. Only Firefix.

It's annoying. I'm going to have to start putting Firefox aside and stop using it. It's too much of a nuisance.

Firefox has no customer support. Only a Community Forum. So, I don't think they'll miss me.

I’m currently conducting a DevOps training session and we are using Firefox to inspect headers for a web app running inside a local Docker container (localhost:8080).

We've noticed that occasionally the 'Network' tab in DevTools fails to show the full response headers for our nginx proxy, even after clearing the cache. It works fine in other browsers, but I prefer using Firefox for our students because of the superior CSS Grid and Flexbox tools.

Is there a specific setting in about:config that might be limiting the capture of headers for local loopback addresses?

FF does not block pop ups when box checked.

Firefox Permissions yesterday blocked Pop Up for viewing my online documents with message "Permission to access file denied" .

I was able to view my online documents after Adding the merchants website to Firefox Permission Exception for Pop Ups, clicked "Allow" and Clicked "Save Changes".   

Next day, the Merchants website no longer appear in Permission Pop Up Exceptions Window, its now empty.

And now I am no longer able to block viewing my online documents as Pop Ups - my online documents are no longer Blocked when I click the "View" button -even though Permission Block Pop Ups box is checked and no websites appear in Permission block Pop Ups Exception Window.

I have tried a few suggestions from Reddit which did not solve the issue.

When I have set the size of the window and then move the window to the left or right then the application automatically expands the window. I do not want it to do that as I want to be able to have the firefox window where I choose and the size I have chosen, but the program automatically expands the widow to fill the screen.

New Window slider (see screen shot ) in settings unchecks when Firefox is closed and opened. I have completed a fully uninstalled FF and completed a clean installation to check that was not the issue. It was not. It has been a few weeks now so not sure which upgrade fried it.

What happened to the feature in Settings that allows turning off Firefox control of mouse.

I do not bother to remember the name of the setting, because I simply turned it off each time there was an update, to avoid the problems it caused. NOW, it is no longer in settings.

I first notices a problem when links on a banner did not work. It did no occur to me it was due to Firefox control of the mouse.

Next the mouse wheel function, configured in the OS, that scrolls three lines has become dysfunctional. It jumps around and jerk up and down when I use it to scroll 3 lines which is a huge time waste.

Then I went to settings to turn off the mouse feature and it was not there! So I looked in about:config and there is a huge list of mouse settings that appear to be configured the way Firefox has universally done without any way to disable Firefox control of the mouse.

Lastly, I do not have the mouse configured for accessibility; I have it minimally configured the way I need it in the computer OS settings. The Firefox configuration of how the mouse functions in Firefox also creates the same wheel problem when not using the browser.

How can Firefox universal configuration of the mouse be disabled. Nothing about it is useful or helpful, it creates a number of obstacle - primarily interference with the use of the mousewheel, and on some websites (primarily configured for the use of Chrome) the banner links are not responding to the mouse.

I do not have an accessibility configuration, nor do I use keyboard mouse shortcuts, Last time I updated I actually installed the entire program, hoping to avoid the Microsoft control of Firefox since the update feature apparently uses the microsoft app to update and takes control when Firefox is the default browser (perhaps also when it is not) - to no avail.

Please at least return the feature to disable Firefox mouse settings that allows turning off the configured mouse setting, or at least offer a solution for disabling them!!

Within the Applications section of my settings, I have it set to open content type of crcc with an application. However when I try now after the latest Firefox update, it opens a new blank tab instead of just launching the application. Anyone else notice this and is there a work around. Of note, after about 5 minutes it does eventually open the application.

How do we (users) modify Firefox functionality to "open image in new tab" using a keyboard shortcut? A configurable (about:) parameter would be very beneficial.

If this is already solved, please publish documentation on how to solve this without the use of questionable add-on's (which introduce security risks and privacy issues).

Up until the last week, on my iMac, if I clicked on the Firefox button on my bottom toolbar, both of my main FF windows (each with multiple tabs and open all the time) would come to the front of the screen.

Now, only one window comes up and I have to specifically select the other window to see it.

Is this a new behaviour or have I inadvertently deactivated whatever it was that let me do as I have always done previously!

I can't find any setting that appears to refer to this condition.

My Firefox Labs tab disappeared after the update. Instructions online point me towards enabling studies to access it again, yet my box for Studies was also greyed out. Which conflict setting could be the cause here?
